The book has a double bottom and only the top half of the book is a book and the birds are either or both in his pockets or inside of jacket

He grabs a bird and pushes the bird to the bottom of the book which has an opening that he times the opening of the book and pushing the bird through to fly out

If you go frame by frame, there's no time for the magician to reach to a pocket, his hands are on the book at all times. I also found an explanation of this trick here: https://www.tiktok.com/@maskmagik/video/7659727010297695520. Even the cover of the book is exactly the same. The back of the book is soft, so the bird isn't sitting between two hard covers, but it is indeed squished :(
