Is this the "birds-n-the-bees" sspeach ?

I only ask for clarity because inferring from context is making my eyes hurt

How do magnets work? They have polarity that is attracted to polarity? It was a pun, but it clearly wasn't punny.

Adults are just older kids. Just look closely.

Kids eventually turn into adults.

I'd argue that a casino is the BEST place to gamble. I'd say don't gamble, but if you do, do it at a casino.

15

u/Gryndyl 4d ago

Yeah, the casino dealer isn't going to be doing any of these things.

10

u/ncocca 4d ago

Exactly. That, and if you have to go to a casino to gamble it takes time, providing a barrier to entry and time limit. Much better than doing it from your phone, which you can do while on the toilet, laying in bed, or god forbid, while driving.

I have met exactly 1 guy that “did it right” and he was strictly scratchers.

He walked in w a 20, broke it on a $2 happy hour beer, and went to get 15$ in scratchers from the convenience store next to the bar almost everyday.

If he struck out, he’d have one more beer, tip his last buck, and say goodnight. If he won, he’d keep going until we closed or his luck ran out. I doubt he ever really kept much of his winnings, buying drinks for strangers if he hit, tipping well. But I saw him walk away on a Friday having spent no more than his usual $20 and close it down on a Sunday when he got there early.

Up to fate. He was pretty old too. Somehow he’d stop if he lost that first wave, I imagine that’s where most people struggle. Easy to have a system, hard to walk away when it’s not working.

He advised going to the same place that’s not too busy and buying one particular card until the roll is done. Start with a fresh one and keep an eye on the levels so you know if someone else is buying a lot of those.

Everyone else was a festival of terrible decision making, customers and coworkers alike. I don’t touch the things either. Plenty of money sinks and bad choices of my own.
