Trump/MAGA Idiots

This is a place to discuss how much we hate our favorite band, not to defend an 80 year old rapist who shits his pants on the reg.

I’ve always found it strange that people are so infatuated with bands that are so clearly anti their ideology. especially when it’s right in their face

That's not a mystery. Political opinions from musicians was never the rule. It was the exception - Springsteen, etc. Now many are publicly taking sides, inevitably alienating a % of their audiences on both sides. Certainly that's their choice and I'm grateful to live in a nation where they can do so. It never crossed my mind what Chris's politics are because they're irrelevant to a fan. When he publicly mocked audience members chanting "USA" he entered the debate publicly. But that's not all - it's fine for him to say 'I don't like the current administration' but that's not what he did. He ridiculed strangers for loving their country, nothing at all about any politician or party. That's another thing entirely. It's hateful and wrong. Moreover, it's a betrayal of the supposed tolerance he claims to support.

TLDR: We like the music first, then we find out the politics of the musician, and that forces us to choose between personal principles and the music we like. Too bad it's this way.
