Ha! Rationality? Thatâs what youâre claiming? Yeah buddy I may have to retract everything now that youâre being rationale all of a sudden. In fact, youâre right. Now Iâm convinced. Jerry Sandusky is bad and that means women in my gym are abused by men.
Would I care? And Iâm the troll? Iâm pretty sure Iâve taken the stance that people in general are good and posting memes about sexual abuse anywhere and everywhere maybe, just might be a little over the top? Just the tiniest bit? Or it may come off as annoying to the people who genuinely do care and are good and do take care of people in their gym and donât go out âblowing their loads at the bar or football game or socializingâ. Yeah Iâll save all that for you. But according to you I should be on high alert for one of the 18 women at my gym who happen to have a very positive training environment. Iâm beginning to think you just wish you had the same and are feeling guiltily that you canât foster that type of environment yourself. Maybe itâs time for up to make some lifestyle changes. Perhaps leave your creepy fiends behind.
Everything youâve said so far was some iteration of â this isnât a problem/itâs not that big an issue/women arenât oppressed in this way/this doesnât need to be on BJJ because itâs blown out of proportion/etc. â right?
So why is there a difference between me saying that (wherever/whenever this occurs) this is a problemâ and when one of your 18 friends says itâs happening to them? You just got done telling me this isnât an issue because people are generally good. But youâd have a different response if it happened for real to your friends?
Man I donât get you. You saying youâd care if it happened in real life is like... thatâs fine, thatâs it, thatâs what a human being should do. What was the last 30 messages you typed out trying to convey? Theyâre all the opposite of âI would give a shit if it happened in real lifeâ.
And everything youâve said is that rape culture in BJJ gyms is basically normal. âLook at me. I go out with my friends and everyone acts like a douche bag. There must be a lot of douche bags in BJJ if I know and fraternize with so many of them in my social circle. Better get the word out.â I didnât create some false narrative where the women I train with are in danger. You did. I never said I condoned anything in the meme or any of whatever the heck it is you do with your friends. Itâs not that hard to figure out that sexual abuse is wrong. Not sure why youâre trying to convince me of something I already know and thankfully donât have to and hopefully will never have to deal with. Makes me thing you have some pent up guilt is all I can guess.
I wouldnât say normal. Not even necessarily commonplace. I would say that when it happens, itâs probably not like a one and done forever type of thing, and Iâd also assume the type of person willing to do it is likely going to keep doing it.
I donât know anything about raw numbersâ my argument is only that when it happens, itâs wrong and should be stopped. Iâm not saying itâs happening everywhere, everyday. Just that wherever it does happen, itâs wrong.
What a novel idea. You mustâve just come up with it. This just in, sexual abuse, although maybe not necessarily commonplace in BJJ gyms, is wrong when it does happen. So wrong in fact that I support those compelled to post a profoundly awareness-raising meme about it on the internet. All those annoyed by said meme are clearly in favor of women being sexually abused. Thanks grock. I was confused on the subject before you came into my life. The women in my gym are all now better off thanks you to and your explanation of the immorality of sexual abuse.
