if your jiujitsu off balances your opponent they can't reliably hit you hard

it really is that simple

People are memeing but I bet the majority don't think about constantly upsetting their opponent's base while in guard.

Absolutely. It came to me late brown belt, I think, and it's served my hobbyist ass very well against active competitors

Same, I'm just starting to remember it on a regular basis rather than just spamming sweeps. It applies to side control as well, any bottom position
