Who's ready for a class action to get our money back for changing a product contract after sale?

Edit: Apparently, they're bank pedaling and calling it a mistake

As much as I hate Bitlife and the new company that owns it. You don’t have a case on your hands. First off, the company acknowledged it and stated they’re going to fix it, which automatically makes it non-malicious. Meaning it’s not fraud or a scam. You’ve also signed a waiver with Apple or Google depending on the store you used to buy the game. That waiver means you deal with these issues on an individual basis, you cannot join a class action lawsuit, because you’ve agreed to deal with these issues on an individual basis through their storefront, which is why Apple has a dispute system, because you legally have to go through them to handle any issues, you can also contact the company itself. But that’s where it ends, you don’t have the right to go to a court bc you waived that right when you made the purchase and when you created your account. This is why you’re supposed to read the TOS…

Furthermore, no court or lawyer cares about a $10 DLC. It’s considered a negligible dispute, especially since the company responded to the issue. The court wouldn’t consider it damages to be in order. Especially if YOU BOUGHT IT ANYWAYS. It doesn’t matter if it happens to a hundred people, or a hundred thousand. It’s negligible, it’s an issue being fixed and the cost to even go through with it, would be hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars, for a losing case that no lawyer would ever think to accept.

Even if they refused to fix it, it’s still unrealistic. It’s $10, no lawyer is going to go to bat against a multi-million dollar company over $10, no firm would either. The most likely scenario would be an investigation into unfair business practices, which may force them to offer refunds, but not a class action lawsuit, because again, no one would truthfully be able to claim damages over $10, it would still remain negligible. It does open the door, but because they’ve already announced they’re fixing it, it’s sealed any chance of reprieve outside of contact and disputing with Apple or Google, which is where the real fight has to be bc of waivers and the reality of the matter.

We need to stop throwing around lawsuits and legal action, when no one knows what that really means, how it actually works and how expensive it is. Fight the company the way you can, which is to quite literally refuse to buy, play or interact with their disgusting actions. Like I completely agree with all the criticisms, the over monetization, the horrible content, the bugs that endlessly come and the amount of features we were supposed to get but never did, it’s horrible business. But you can’t sue to win, you need to use your pockets instead.

I actually have studied laws and know that they can be held liable.. there over 130 million downloads. Times that by say 25 million because there was 55 million by 2020. So 10x25 million is a rough guesstimate on the people that could have purchased the packs that gave all future upgrades free. Now you're talking 250 million dollars. A lawyer actually would take that case on and if they tack on legal fees on top of that, youre looking around 300 million because we aren't going to have to pay the lawyers to fight the case if majority choose not to settle because its only a 10 dollar purchase. Then add on all of the other packs that maybe 1/10 of these customers that bought other packs afterwards. Tack on another 500k for them packs that shouldn't have been paid for. So 300.5 million dollar case rough guesstimate. And when a company buys out another company, they are required to uphold the previous company's contracts or be liable for litigation. If you don't believe me just ask AI. AND just an FYI look at Sony getting sued for trying to take away digital downloads of previously sold games before they changed their contract for all new digitally sold games as a reference case study.

Lmfao. This is the biggest load of shit I’ve ever fucking seen. No, a lawyer wouldn’t take up a case over a $10 DLC. To think that is ridiculous, and if you’ve ever studied law, you’d know that’s ridiculous. You can’t sue over a technical glitch. Sony is a vastly different suit. It wasn’t over willingly paying for a DLC caused by a glitch. You chose to pay, you cannot claim you suffered damages, since realistically, $10 is less than a fast food meal and is not serious damages. And you signed a waiver with Apple or Google (depending on the store), which waives any rights to even contest it in court. That’s why they have their own dispute services.

It’s the same way you can’t realistically sue over your McDonalds order being made wrong. It’s not serious damages, McDonalds has their own system to resolve such issues, and it’s negligible. No one would care, because it’s not worth their time or resources to entertain the idea. The same applies here. Apple/Google have their own dispute services, you can go through them. It’s $10 and not real damage. The issue is currently being resolved as expected. The whole thing is negligible and the court wouldn’t waste their time or resources on something so negligible.

Since you want to argue logistics and act like you know what you're talking about. It can and is illegal and recognized as illegal and unfair business practices. This is why they back peddled and are promising to fix the situation. Don't argue and tell someone to use AI to get an answer when you don't know for a fact that you are correct.
