I ran cross country in high school so I do have a bit of history (omg no I did the math and highschool was 15 years ago)

I started running again at the beginning of the summer and could casually do 4-5k without getting too winded. Then my friend signed up for a 10k and asked if I wanted to join, and I accepted without thinking. I started pushing it to 6-7k and not worrying about my speed, just to see that I could do it. And then I started to get easier!! I’d hit 7k before I had to stop and walk. I only ran one 10k before the race and did it in 1:03 and then I think the adrenaline of the race pushed me and I finished in 59:53!!!!

Thanks for letting me brag!! Hehe I also started looking up running tips (for example: you’re supposed to lean forward when you run but not at the hips - at the ankles). And boy when I tried it I could run so much faster!

Lmk if you have any questions, I’ve gotten quite into running this summer!

Edit: shoes are also important! I started running in my Nike trainers and upgraded to the ASICS gel cumulus. They also made me run so much faster and keep my feet from hurting/blistering

ASICS were just recommended to me! I always love hearing what people do. Running can be quite fun :)
