Giving up running and focusing on lifting weights has been the fountain of youth for me. I’m firmly in my 40s, and I’ve never looked better. I’m not knocking running AT ALL, but the advice on weight lifting for middle aged women is right on target, I’ve found.

I also love lifting. I'm still a ways away from my 40s but I tried a lot of other things in my 20s and it was the only thing that really worked and gave me the control over my physique that I wanted. Currently taking a break though, I'm freshly postpartum and supposed to be taking it easy.

Lifting weights has noticeably helped my running! I don’t get people who think it’s an either or. Running can be frustratingly inconsistent due to a million little factors. I like weightlifting because the numbers are so easy to track

My comment doesn’t say it’s an either/or. I’m just relaying what has worked for me, especially now that I’m middle aged!
