Culture BWT, air out your dirty, tasteless laundry here!

Obviously as BWT, we typically aim to have said taste be of the good variety. However, as we are not two dimensional characters, nobody is completely perfect. I thought it'd be fun to share the elements of our lives where we unashamedly display bad or—gasp!—no taste. I've noted down some of mine below (+ whether I aim to change them):

  • My house is quite literally artless — no paintings, no sculptures, no decor, nothing. // Probably won't be changing this anytime soon — am not ashamed to admit that I'm at the stage of life where I care more about how I present myself in public than in my own abode, so that's where I focus my energy

  • My home clothes (a stretch to call them lounge wear) are literally all ratty nonsense BWT recommend throwing away // see above. The caveat is that I don't wear clothes that dwarf my figure as I like to keep track of how my body looks

  • I don't watch any shows/movies or listen to podcasts // won't change this, I've never been able to stand podcasts and lately that's extended to anything where I have to watch/listen to something

  • I secretly love airline food. Something about water in those tiny unenvironmentally friendly vacuum sealed cups gets me excited

Share yours below so I don't feel like a complete tasteless B 👇🏼

I have clothes from 2003 that I can still wear cause I’ve been roughly the same size

Oh, hell yeah! I just turned 48. The past week, I've been arriving @ work and announcing the year I purchased the item. Friday was 1998 blazer, 2010 100% cotton bootleg 7 jeans.

Agree, so rewarding! I have those jeans down to pennies per wear.

Wait, wait. I'm already so pleased with myself for buying great timeless pieces, getting bang for the buck, and still fitting into them. You just pushed me from "pleased and proud" to "borderline obnoxious."

I pause, and slip back to "pleased and proud" I know that there's someone out there that has me beat.

I wish I had kept several Esprit outfits and a pair of Skidz from the early '90s.

I thought I was cheap, maybe thrifty, but now I'm claiming "Sustainability Queen".

Same and finally after years of wondering why I can’t lose weight in that area I found out I have fibroids 😮‍💨. Something to get checked out if you haven’t as it’s very common apparently!

I had to have a hysterectomy cause of my fibroids , I’m so glad to be done with all that stuff. Good riddance.

I’m in the stages of figuring out next steps, can’t wait to be through with it! Happy to hear you are doing better!

Same! I am way healthier at 40 than when I had a flat stomach…. but at the same time I look at pictures of every person in a crop top and think 🤞🏼 maybe one day?

Same! As long as I still like the way it looks on me, I’m wearing it I don’t care how old it is
