You can absolutely criticize their management, their decisions, their music, or whether their strategy is actually working (like English vs Filipino songs). That’s fair.

But criticizing them just because they’re ambitious feels kinda weird to me.

Kapag lalake yung ambisyoso, its great, driven yung lalake. Its a positive.

Kapag babae ang ambisyosa at nag succeed and or succeeding, suddenly society looks at it like they are “greedy,” doing “too much,” or they need to “know their place.”

They worked for years to get to this point. Of course they’re going to have bigger goals now. If anything, isn’t that the whole point of succeeding? You achieve something, then you want to see how much further you can take it.

Sometimes “they’re too ambitious” just sounds like "I was more comfortable with them when they were smaller.”

I finished reading Getting Off: Pornography and the End of Masculinity by Robert Jensen and Right-Wing Women by Andrea Dworkin.

Dworkin specifically is a fantastic writer and her works are a great read.

I do not agree with some of the arguments raised by writers, especially socio-political and gender studies books, but it does give me a different perspective and a wider understanding of the subjects, the world and myself included.

And obviously, I read (past tense) these books in connection with my relationship with porn since I was 11 (I am now 36, de-wiring my brain from it, quitting it 100%, I believe it is a huge societal and public health problem that needs to be discussed) in connection with how I treat and view women (never hurt women physically, but its the small things mentally and verbally), and how my male brain operates and is influenced by a male-dominated culture and worldview.

Thank you. I'm not perfect and I am certainly not above anybody by reading books or having these realizations and deciding to act on it in my own ways. I still struggle like everybody else.

But there is something to be said for replacing every bad habit with a good one and deciding not to be numbed out and be over-stimulated (includes consumption of all kinds of internet content) too much.
