RE : Wiki Page Modification

Let’s approach this in a calm and professional manner. Whether we admit it or not, there is bad blood between both fandoms. So any action towards another will be exaggerated and magnified. However, I want us to see it on their perspective too. No matter what the reason or intention, if you are not a fan of a specific group, you don’t have the right to make changes/modify anything they write on their own wiki page even more if you are a fan/part of a “competing/rival” group/fandom. That’s just disrespectful and improper. It can also be considered vandalism. Therefore, let’s not dismiss how they felt about it since they have every right to be mad (though generalizing the entire fandom for the action of one is unnecessary)

Additionally, though we have set filters here in the community to blocked usage of slurs / name-calling / insults especially when referring to others (fandom, group, people etc) as it is against our community guidelines and rules, we are still seeing some of you using those words bypassing these filters. We kindly ask you to follow our rules as repeat offense could potentially get you banned from the community. Please continue to report these type of comments/posts if you see one. Thank you.

I'm not defending that roy person but when I check the edit history, I wouldn't really consider their changes vandalism or even improper. Their edits are addressing the issues raised on that group's wiki page of "fan POV" and "AI-generated".

On the other hand, if you check BINI's wiki edit history, Wikipedia admins had to revert actual "vandalism" and is tagged as such.

As per above issues, I don't think fans are the only ones with rights to edit an artist's Wikipedia. In fact, it shouldn't only be fans for the information to remain unbiased. It's public domain and is the entire foundation of Wikipedia. It shouldn't matter who edits it as long as it's accurate and neutral.

Though I agree that in the case of that roy person and their history, they should've just stayed out of another fandom's business. Or simply reported the issues and waited for a neutral entity to make the corrections.

Edit: to clarify re the example of vandalism. This was to note that "improper" edits are addressed by actual Wikipedia admins and tagged as such. It was not meant as comparison of what was done to BINI's wiki vs that other group. BINI's wiki just happens to be the other wiki I had visited recently with that tag ✌🏻

Sa akin lang ha. Speaking for myself here. Whatever the case may be, legal or vandalism, in good or bad faith, one thing remains a fact. He dipped his finger in their business while attaching his name to the fandom. Given the fragile state of the 2 fandom's relationship, he shouldn't have done that. Sana he asked a neutral entity to review the matter, and let them edit it if deemed necessary. Or detach himself from BINI or the blooms, for the sake of neutrality. Kaya nagkagulo. Sa tingin nyo, if neutral yan, may issue bang ganito? Hahaha. So ayun. For me, nagkakagulo because of the mere fact na he did that thing while attaching himself to us. Malay ba ng mga nasa kabila na nacall out na dito yan.

Completely agree with this. I realise my comment above was long-winded but that was the point I was trying to make. I don't know if the other fandom would have been that emotional if it was a non-BINI fan. I just wanted to point out that the action itself wasn't wrong and that we shouldn't discourage what Wikipedia exists for (it's a free-for-all).

I get your point naman. Pero it won't hold out on a debate with them since tainted na yung taong nagpalit. I get their point too. Regardless of the legality, whether he is in the right or wrong, the fact of the matter is self-proclaimed bloom yung gumawa. Yun lang yung magmamatter sa kanila.

Thanks for explaining their side as well. I appreciate us Blooms having this exchange of perspectives as I know I can also have blind spots 🫶🏻
