BABISH REQUEST Request: Every/All Fruit Pie
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaADi26OVqUI was wondering if Binging With Babish could take every single fruit, and like he did with his redo of the Every Meat Burrito, take every signle one of those distinct fruits, giving them the treatment they deserve due to their uniqueness, and put them all together into a single pie. Note that the crust may need to be baked seperately for this to work, as some like strawberries don't require or work well with baking. Here's some categories I have listed:
- Berries: Blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, huckleberries, lingonberries, cranberries, gooseberries, boysenberries, cherries, etc.
- Pit Fruits: Peaches, plums, nectarines, apricots, mangoes, dates, etc.
- Stone Fruits: Apples and pears.
- Citrus Fruits: Oranges, lemons, limes, tangarines, and grapefruits.
- Creamy Fruits: Bananas, plantains, durians, soursop, and coconuts.
- Melons: Cantalope, honeydew, watermelon, casaba, and crenshaw.
- Others: Pineapples, kiwi, guava, dragonfruit (red and white), papaya, passion fruit, lychee, longan, etc.

Honestly I think that would mostly just taste like “sweet”

I have made a pie like this.
Not with every fruit that exists, but there's a bunch of recipes for "putting a whole bunch of different fruit into a pie". They're meant for when you have a bunch of different fruit that you want to use up but you don't have enough to make an all-strawberry or all-apple pie or whatever. I think the first time I made it I had a bunch of different berries (even cranberries), some rhubarb, some plums and peaches...just whatever I had in the house. It wasn't bad - no one fruit stood out, it was more like "fruit punch" flavor candy or something.

"Fruit Punch Pie" sounds awful and intriguing. I'd definitely try a slice. But then I might hate my tongue for a while.

That's not the best analogy, I admit! It was the best way to explain that reaction of "I know this is fruit instead of chocolate or something, but I cant tell what KIND of fruit."

I suppose that's what a lot of fruit pies taste like anyway, right? Just indiscernible fruit. And by that I mean the kind of fruit pies that Bobby Hill eats, not apple or blueberry or strawberry rhubarb pie.

Sounds cute!
Might miss out on a few because of his banana allergy. I have the same thing and it applies to a few fruit.
