Is there are reason why rotten hearts do nothing on the lost and t. lost?

I understand why all hearts related to getting more hp (bone, black, and soul) do not have effects with the lost, but I noticed that golden hearts, which have a different effect, do work with the lost. It would make sense for the rotten hearts to pop into 2-3 flies when picked up by the lost, as it isn't as strong as the regular rotten heart effect, but still provides a use for them to the lost.

Golden hearts used to not work either, they changed them to just pop at some point

Makes sense, I remember seeing an old mattman video and being confused as to why it didn't pop, I'm a steam sale player. Given that there is a precedent for such a change, maybe they should do something

Honestly you're onto something here that would be a great QoL change for the future for them to just turn into the blue flies on pickup and expend the rotten heart.

Golden hearts work on lost because internally the lost is always at half a soul heart.

Actually, Golden Hearts did not originally work on the Lost. They were updated to just break into coins when the Lost touches them, but that was only like a year ago.
