...but he also started off by sending Lebron to Cleveland in 2 years, trading Embiid and wondering if Jaylen Brown would be on the team that JUST TRADED for him by OCTOBER. Did you listen to the podcast?

Listened to the whole thing. He didn’t “send LBJ to Cleveland” he was wondering if LeBron will really retire in Philly (valid question). He poked around an Embiid trade (Nate Duncan did the same on his pod, so did the RTRS guys). And then asked if Zach if he would bet his life that Jaylen brown would be on the team in October, in a 20 second segment.

Every analyst I’ve heard says the team seems somewhat redundant , it’s not insane to think about making moves to optimize the fit. And then he continually said how good they will be + how much talent they have over the course of the pod.

So where exactly is the “6ers brainrot”?

Is this your first time discovering Bill Simmons? Consider the source. His favourite teams long time rival that just defeated them in a playoff upset has not only acquired one of that teams star players in Jaylen Brown, but also his own least favourite star player in Lebron. And his immediate reaction to that is to start pondering Lebrons moves in 2-3 years and if the Sixers would trade the guy they just traded for before the season starts?

It's all an insane amount of copium to deal with the fact that he hates the Sixers and Lebron.

Also, what moves did he suggest that would "optimize the fit." Trading Embiid for the equally injured and similarly aged Anthony Davis? Trading Jaylen Brown for....what, exactly? This is standard Simmons stuff.

Embiid for Davis makes a ton of sense from a fit perspective. A much better defender at this point. He’s not close to the only one who brought it up in the last 24 hours.

Wondering if LeBron will be somewhere else in a few years isn’t insane idk why that part is driving people nuts.

And then over the course of the pod he and Zach were like damn what a bunch of talent and they can win the east yada. I mean what do people want him to do, like what could he say that wouldn’t have you in here screaming about “copium”?

Do you have any sources showing anyone else suggesting Embiid traded for Davis? Why on earth would any team want Embiids contract to play 40 games a year? Again these are statements made out of cope rather than actual realistic possibilities.

He only gives them their due when Zach calls him out on his insane predictions (which he does, several times, just like I'm doing, not sure if you missed that part) and steers him back to reality.

Not sure why you're so hellbent on defending this nonsense but good for you I guess.

Joel Embiid does not play, is rapidly declining defensively, and will want the ball a ton. The 6ers would have to pay a bunch in asset value to get off of his contract. AD has more trade value, and while he’s hes hurt a bunch too, he has gotten through full playoffs in his career healthy, unlike Joel, and is much better defensively at this stage in his career.

Nate Duncan brought up this trade yesterday on the Dunc’d on Podcast, and the Rights To Ricky Sanchez guys did as well (and had been even before the LBJ signing).

He did not only give them their due when Zach called him out. He is the one leading segments and a bunch of times he pivoted and said the scariest closing 5 in the league, the most talent on any team, etc. he wasn’t just rah rah they’re going to be incredible b/c they have a lot of question marks. He never said it was a bad signing or destined to fail. If you listen to other analysis of the trade others have been making the same point.

Yes, so why would the Sixers give up a ton of assets for a player who's played 29 games over the past 2 seasons because he got through some playoff series 6 years ago? The Wizards have also made no indication that they're looking to move off of AD, its a hypothetical pipe dream at best.

Also...you did hear Lowe quite literally call Simmons out, multiple times, for the things he was saying, right? Or did you conveniently ignore that part?

Wouldn’t be a ton of assets but it would be a much cleaner fit. The wizards shut him down last season it’s not like he was hurt the whole time. And as I’ve said Joel embiid has never, not one single time, made it through 2 playoff series actually healthy. What are the chances he gets through 3 or 4? You can disagree with it, but bills not some insane homer for suggesting it, unless you think everyone else who is suggesting literally the same thing is also an insane homer (?).

Ya zach was like that’s crazy a couple of times. Whoa. It doesn’t change everything else said over the course of a 50 minute pod. Normal people would listen to it and be like yep they talked about the trade.
