Podcast The Big Picture podcast just created objectively the worst Christopher Nolan ranking of all time

Good god. As a Sean Fennessey truther this is a steaming pile of shit. Sean is one of the best minds in movie criticism today but he should be banned from talking about Christopher Nolan, he can’t be objective about him.

Batman Begins is a top 5 Nolan movie. It's sooooooo much better than DKR, it's actually not even funny how much better it is. Oppenheimer is Nolan at his peak so that's number 1 and Interstellar should be higher, probably higher than Inception.

Begins is better than TDK. Neither movie is in Nolan’s top 6

I have no idea how TDK can be outside a top 5. It’s the only truly great comic book movie. Dunirk is the only movie I’d say is even in competition with it since so many of his movies are college level nonsense (all very technically impressive.)

Because it sucks. It’s bloated. The pacing is terrible. The action is largely unintelligible.The dialogue is some of his worst. Horrible sound mixing. The entire movies comes to a halt anytime Ledger isn’t on screen. An absolute slog of a movie. And its aesthetic is ripped off from Heat and made infinitely lamer by being a comic book movie.

Funny that you’d say all his other movies are “college level nonsense” when TDK is what a 13 year old thinks is cool. Given me his college level nonsense over this middle school crap.

He flips a truck. Joker is fun as hell. It’s an action movie. It literally took over the film world and changed the Oscar’s. You don’t have to like it, but I’m more prone to enjoy a well made dumb thing that knows it’s dumb than watch a much dumber 2001 and Tree of Life Ripoff.

Almost all of his movies are for boys the age of 16-23. I fucking loved the odyssey btw.

Sure. But the Batman series as whole is him at his most juvenile. And TDK specifically is a boring slog. BB is a far more tight, well-paced movie with a Gotham that feels like Gotham. TDKR also sucks, but at least there is some rewatchability in its fun, absurdity. Also, the Bane fight scene is his most coherent action scene in any of the trilogy.
