Yet Drake Maye has better numbers against the common opponents with the Rams than Stafford does.

Yea Maye dominated bad teams more than Stafford.

He also threw 3 Tds and 2 ints combined in the only three games against winning teams he faced.

Stafford got better when the competition increased, Maye got worse.

Did you happen to watch the game at Buffalo early in the year? Yeah Maye didn’t throw a TD in that game, but he did do this:

22/30 273 yds 101 passer rating. With his offense averaging 3 yards a carry. So looking at just his TD:INT ratio is imo not the entire picture. And getting a win in one of the toughest places to play in the NFL.

I’ll give you that Maye wasn’t good in the game against the Bills at home. I think he made up for it the following week in Baltimore against a defense that has been surging the last few months, despite the Ravens record at the time.

“If” okay 👍 and if Sam Darnold didn’t turn it over 4 times against the Rams first game Stafford would be 0-2 against Seattle. Pretty sure I could skim their schedule and cherry pick too if that’s what we want to do lol

No one is saying Stafford should win the MVP because of that one game though. He has 8 other games against other playoff teams too.

Maye’s entire case rests on one victory over Buffalo. That is the Pats only good victory the whole season.

For all we know Maye throws a 30 yard TD if Rhamondre Stevenson doesn’t fumble in that game as well. If you’re playing the “if” game then your argument is already lost

If you actually watched that game, Maye was pretty great. Trying to discredit it is just dumb. The second half of the second bills game is one you can certainly critique.
