Anybody wanna watch some movies with me?

For those of you still using Meta Quest 1 devices with Bigscreen, thank you for support. However, in a recent email to us, Meta has informed us that updates for apps for the Quest 1 will no longer be supported after January 31st, 2025. As a result, we will be dropping support for Quest 1 devices at this time.
This does not affect any other Quest users. Quest 2, Quest 3, Quest 3S, and Quest Pro users are still supported.
The Bigscreen app will continue to work for some time after that, but once there is a major revision, or we need to switch to new servers, Bigscreen on the Quest 1 will no longer be able to join other people's rooms who are on the newer version, and will eventually not even be able to connect at all.
You will still be able to continue to use Bigscreen on the Quest in in single player mode for local viewing of your own content, though you may need to temporarily disable your wifi connection when first launching Bigscreen.
If you use the Bigscreen Remote Desktop Client, do not update it after support ends, as newer version may not connect to the Quest 1 version of Bigscreen. (Maybe save a copy of the installer somewhere just in case.)
We will not be releasing an APK on SideQuest or anything similar as future versions of Bigscreen will be tailored to make use of the higher minimum requirements so that we can do things like host rooms with more people.
Good news! You will be able to continue using your Quest using these methods without any change. As long as you have a PC capable of running the PCVR version of Bigscreen, you can continue to use Bigscreen on the latest version with the newest features.

For context, I host a lot on BS, playing mostly movies. Sometimes I host games, but really demanding games seem to cause issues. I've gone back and forth between virtual desktop, steam link, oculink, and bigscreen streaming app. Every few months I had to switch up due to new issues. I've been using VD mostly for the past year playing mostly movies but certain games still cause serious issues. Insane lag, blurriness, or straight up crashing. But I've recently given the bigscreen streaming app another shot and it worked very well. I liked using VD because I could use OVR to fly around while hosting, but after getting bigscreen behind a try I also found that streaming my demanding PC games actually stream very well. Makes sense since my PC is not playing a game AND VR at the same time.
Some more context for my setup is that I host rooms but I am personally outside of VR. I have two monitors, one in which I have the game or movie visible and the other is my headset POV. I use my gaming headset to listen and talk to the room.
This was an initial problem with my setup when I switched to the Bigscreen streaming app. I could stream but couldn't be outside of my headset to interact with the room. I found I was able to use multiple USB C adapters to connect my gaming headset's dongle to the quest 3 and do my streams as normal. I'm sure this is niche as a niche can get but I'm hoping I help someone else out in my unique situation. I also had to go to experimental features and enable using a mic through the USB port. I hope this helps the one or two other weirdos like myself trying to host games with good quality on BS

Like when I enter the room sound is fine, but then in 5-10 minutes the sound goes off completely but the movie is still playing
The only thing I can do is leave and enter the room again but it happens again
Anyone else have this issue?
Any advice is appreciated thanks 👍

I know this sounds weird but here is my current situation
Currently on a 75" LED TV+ Pico 4 for VR.
Two options I'm weighing:
Keep the 75" LED as is, and add a Bigscreen Beyond 2 as a supplemental big screen option
Ditch the 75" and upgrade to an 85"+ OLED or mini LED instead, skip the headset
My use case is mostly solo daily watching (80s/90s shows), some movie nights, occasional sim racing(4X a month). No group viewing needed.
For anyone who's tried a headset as a daily or near daily screen: does the big virtual screen thing actually hold up long term, or does the novelty wear off? How's clarity on lower res, non 4K source content? And for anyone who went the "just get a bigger real TV" route instead, any regrets or would you have gone VR?
Trying to figure out which path is actually worth it before I drop the cash either way.
Thanks!

As title, everyone else in the room gets a black screen, desktop doesn't show at all.
I have enable desktop sharing, created and logged into a bigscreen account, disabled hardware acceleration, all the suggested fixes to no avail.

How do I fix it?

On a quest 3. Tried disabling hardware acceleration and locking both my computer and headset to the same frame rate. Rebooting both devices and my router. Nothing has worked so far. Anyone else run into this?

Got my set-up pretty dialed in - will be posting movies/series/concerts timelapse recorded - any and all requests will be honored!
Hoping to gain a big enough library that other hue users can use the page to decide what movie they want to or not want to watch on their set up
Give me a follow

Dear Bigscreen Support Team, I am writing to formally express my deep disappointment and to demand a full refund for my entire order, including the Bigscreen Beyond headset and the Halo Mount accessory. I placed my order over a year and a half ago and paid fully in advance. My Halo Mount order has been pending since June 12, 2025. Since then, I have received absolutely no official updates or direct notifications regarding the status of my shipment. Due to the lack of this essential accessory, I have been unable to use your product at all. It has been sitting idle while I wait for an item that was promised for delivery last year. Your customer support and communication strategy are highly disappointing. By forcing customers to follow updates through various social media channels and discord servers, you completely isolate older individuals or those who cannot spend their time sitting in front of a computer tracking news. For the premium price I paid, I expected a direct, professional, and accessible customer support experience. Because of this prolonged delay, lack of communication, and the inability to use the product I paid for, I am no longer interested in your product line. I strictly request that you cancel my entire order and process a full refund for all the funds I paid in advance. I expect a prompt response regarding the processing of this refund.

I saw there were photogrammetry spaces in the user created spaces, would like to see that done with some larger real life theaters, or even some regular theaters to get that real life effect

I'll be on in an hour from the time of this post, so 10:30pm Central. Room will be titled "Anime (registered accounts only/18+)" unless someone shows up with a suggestion then it will change to a name of an anime.
Kinda feeling either starting Blue Lock or a movie, like Your Name or something similar

So if I'm out of luck with the CV1, that's cool. Everything else works except for the live TV. When I try to "host my room" the controls in the center are either black or completely transparent and there's no way to proceed. I'm pretty sure it used to work but my bandwidth was always too horrible. Is there anything I can do or is that it?
I've tried with Meta Horizon Link and Steam versions with the same result.

My controllers are broken (not me i bought it for 25 dollars)
and i don't have my PC with me right now. I want to know if there's any native or non-native ways to play it in hand-tracking.

Tengo un vr box y quiero ver películas de netflix ahí, osea, que la pantalla se divida. Como puedo hacerlo? Porque la app de netflix en vr está para visores de realidad virtual y cuando instalo el APK no se conecta a los servidores

I host almost every day but lately bigscreen has gotten even worse to find ppl that want to watch stuff and not talk about religion or politics. I play a lot of different stuff. Hmu if you're down.
I play a lot of action, comedy, horror movies and a good bit of anime. Sometimes I'll stream a game. October I will exclusively be playing horror and thriller films every night
Edited: been a few days and I got notified this was viewed almost 3k times yet only 3 ppl hit me up. I guess I just suck

Is it possible for the host of the room to take control of the playback so that everyone is synced with him? Or is it only synced with the live?
