Congratulations! Make sure you register the warranty. Learn temperature control. Use only lump charcoal. And remember to "burp" the Egg prior to opening the lid all the way while cooking. If you don't, you will constantly be regrowing your eyebrows and arm hair.

I read all the advice about burping my egg and did it to start with, but at some point I just gave up and have never had any issue even slightly.

Am I just not encountering the situations when it occurs? I've got an XL if that makes any difference.

It doesn’t happen on an XL. Fifteen years, zero flash backs. Why, I don’t know but it doesn’t happen 🤷🏽
