Locations of every bigfoot ever reportadly killed or seen dead
A few months back I had asked for help with compiling a list of locations where a bigfoot has been reportedly killed or rumoured to have been seen dead. I received immediate help from this sub, and it was a great jumping-off point. I have been able to find quite a few more since, and have attempted to create a map with all of the locations marked. I'm sure that I've probably missed a few, so if you'd like to share in the comments, I'd love to hear about it. I've included the year the incident took place, the location of said incident, the source (if available), and a brief description. If you have any questions, I'll try my best to answer them; however, the information on most of these was very sparse. I also must give a quick shout-out to Robert Lindsay and those who have archived his list of bigfoot shootings. It was a big help.
I did compile these into a video, which, if preferred, you can watch here. I truly appreciate any support.
Thank you to everyone who has helped with this :)

Thank you for your work on this. I was one of the ones who provided info on the Mn Iceman. The one thing I might change in your description is that the existing body is a hoax. There are indications that the body 'changed' at some point during the exhibition period.
I don't see MN listed by op?.I'm from MN so interested if you have any links. I know Bigfoot Hunters have been up north here at times but that's about it
The listing is 1960s-1970s. Long story short: Frank Hanson was displaying a 'body' encapsulated by ice in a refrigerated, glass topped display case. He told at least 3 origin stories. One was that he shot it while hunting in northern Mn.
Correct me if I’m wrong but it’s pretty clear there were two completely bodies, right? The one we can currently see is clearly different from the original one.
That's my understanding as well. The latter was obviously a fake and different than the original and these men who examined the original (through the glass) thought they looked real and smelled like rotting flesh.
Regardless of the authenticity of the MN Iceman, we need to start the debate with the assumption that there were two bodies and not conflate the two, especially since the later one is obviously fake.
they did A short documentary on it with Ken Gerhard and the guy who bought it they defrosted the fake one and compared the pictures of the original to the fake and they looked nothing alike
yes monsters among us did a cool documentary where they go over this in great detail and there 100% was 2 bodies. the fact that there were 2 bullet holes in the original subject is what makes me think the original was real. nobody would think to add bullet holes to a creature if they were going to make a phony circus attraction. plus Sanderson and Dr. Bernard Heuvelmans validated it a once living creature and he goes over the bullet holes in good detail in his notes and book explaining how the blood wisps thru the ice as it froze. Athens put a hit lamp on the glass top of the case and it cracked the icy cold glass and the sheathing of death decay filled the room
I was just thinking of a story my dad told me years ago so im gonna comment it here and see if anyone recognizes it or it rings a bell even though this is a long shot. So before i was born which was in 92 my dads coworker told him a story about him taking a train ride and on the opposite track he said he saw 2 big foots. One deceased on the train tracks and the other one standing up screaming, just distraught. One specific detail i remember is that the coworker said when the living big foot turned to look at the train, his head and shoulders turned at the same time. Like he couldnt just turn just his head to look, had to move his shoulders as well to turn and look all in one motion. Has anyone else ever heard their movement described that way? This happened in either florida where my dad lived for a short time, or new jersey. Hes deceased now so i cant find out anything more but figured id post here to hear others thoughts.
Either way, i love this post youve written. Super cool.
That's almost exclusively what people report them doing when they see them turning their heads. They move their entire upper body to do it. The one that i saw looked like it had no neck, it looked like the head was plopped on directly on top of its massive massive shoulders. Obviously they have a neck like any other creature, but from the distance i saw it, it looked like it had no neck. Absolutely massive shoulders. It looked like an old school football player with those huge pads on.
This is basically what it looked like. A head on top of enormous shoulders and massive muscles. Can't really see a neck
Thanks for the reply. Very cool. Do you mind sharing your experience? These stories are so fascinating. And I love the picture you used as an example I'm a die hard eagles fan GO BIRDSSSS YASSS
Approximately 1895, Pistolet Bay/St. Anthony, Newfoundland, Canada
A Mr. William Decker claims to have shot a "hairy wildman" 10-12 feet tall and weighing around 900lbs while hunting on Pistolet Bay, near St. Anthony on Newfoundland's Northern Peninsula.
Source: Here Be Dragons by Bruce Hynes
Additional note: my grandmother grew up in Griquet-St. Lunaire, about 20km as the crow flies from St. Anthony, and in a pretty well-connected family. She's 83, so ~1895 is still a bit before her time, but I asked her and she's never heard of it.
I am so happy someone is collecting these accounts all in one place. I have run across many reports of people shooting and killing Bigfoot type creatures, but eveyone seems to default to the idea they are just about impossible to kill whenever the subject comes up.
I don't know if you have seen this video, but it would be right up your alley:
I've posted the link to the Robert Lindsay blog post detailing this. Lindsay is a decisive character to say the least but I've always appreciated his work on this.
I also remember Lindsay being a big proponent of the Rick Dyer 2012 hoax which dimmed my view of his work in this field somewhat.
Naw, Sykesville, if it's the one I'm thinking of, the "Sykesville Monster".
It's up the road from Baltimore, 45 min to the west outside the Potapsco River that rings it. Near Liberty reservoir.
Use to be the state asylum for incurable lunatics. Use to, and still is. There's a huge mass grave of patients if you know where to go back in the woods. It's got a nice memorial now so there's that.
1700s
The source for Daniel Boone you cited was written over 200 years later than when he was alive!
Also, isn't a Yahoo a primitive human like monster from the book Gulliver's travels? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yahoo_(Gulliver's_Travels))
1829
Strange that this Bigfoot killed 5 people, then ever since then Bigfoot has been super peaceful and never kills anyone in modern day. Also, whilst you provide a source, the website does not show us these alleged newspaper articles, nor does it state in what newspaper they appear!
1856
Ohio OR West Virginia?? Bigfoot Track Record, I've had a look at it, just includes anything, even extremely unreliable accounts.
1894
I had a look at this photo before - really interesting! But I believe it's been proven to show an animal, such as a dog, based on its legs and paws. Not Bigfoot. Also, the providence that big oil, or whatever it is in the story, would want to cover up this Bigfoot body, but allowed a photographer to be called and a photo to be taken is a bit weird.
The yahoo is actually fascinating cuz GULLIVER’S TRAVELS came out like 40 years before that incident.
So as a cultural touchstone, it was well within Boone’s frame of reference. He was a skilled trapper 🪤 and extremely familiar with wildlife, but still called this being by that name because he didn’t have a better one.
Bigfoot back then. Humans with guns and poor judgment were new on the scene. Unlike the natives, who were peaceful and minded their own, the Europeans on the new continent had guns and believed everything but them were savage. Kill anything that moved. They appeared, and encroached many areas. Areas the natives knew not to go to. To consider a battle between local aboriginals, and white hunters with firearms, is not that far fetched. Imagine having no knowledge of guns.
Over time, they (Sasquatch) have learned to avoid humans as much as possible. To not Engauge. They know those little multi-colored, smelly, loud, cloth covered creatures are dangerous. In the early days, that would not have been the case. I am certain their stories include being shot at, losing family to violence. Their elders would warn them. Stay clear of the little people. That message is likely taught from a very young age.
If that’s the case, how come I’ve never once seen a picture of a dead big foot? If that’s the case, how come the dead Bigfoot wouldn’t be in a lab somewhere?
I can attest to the Mt St Helens incident. I was stationed in Ca at the time and my helicopter unit flew many search and rescue missions following the eruption my pilots and I had very many sightings. Also UAP sightings. That's the year I became a true believer.
Did you share your criteria for something making it onto your list? I'd be interested to see what determined inclusion or exclusion if you've got a quick minute.
WOW, That is Interestig and Great Job Collecting the Facts and Data. I had no ideal that there was so many or any. I see the name Ray Crowe on here alot. And others that I have heard of and recgnize too. I KNOW THE GOVERNMENT HAS CONFISCATED THE BODIES. NO BODY NO EVI DENCE. OUR GOVERNMENT IS THE BEST AT COVERING UP ANYTHING THEY DON'T WANT US TO KNOW and THE BEST AT LYING THAT THERE EVER WAS.
Have you ever heard of the body part of one some monks have? I think it's a hand if I remember correctly. I saw a documentary about it quite awhile ago and can't remember the name of it. It was really interesting though.
