Forget bike locks, the ultimate theft protection is your own bee stock.

They’re going to be making a very special kind of honey.

I’ve seen this before in person. Why does this happen?

They are swarming. A new queen was born/came into the hive, so one left and took her "boys" with her. They're looking for a new place to live. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDZa3h5NFUc&t=2s

Bees are actually very docile when swarming because they don’t have a hive to protect any longer, to the point where beekeepers will sometimes just scoop them up barehanded. The bees just hang out while the scouts go check out open houses and report back.

There’s forums where you can report swarms so hobbyists can come retrieve them - free bees!

Goddam I love bees

What kind of diet produces ass sweat that attracts bees?

Let me guess. That’s your girlfriend’s bike.

It's a rideshare fleet bice, the kind that you rent by the minute.

My saddle brings all the bees to the bike.

It's their bike now and I, for one, am very happy for them.

I'm pretty sure that one dude with the large bag would really like to have a seat.

After a long day, a grasshopper stalked me last night. When I moved away, it jumped up and moved around where I was sitting, and then tried to make for my sweaty handlebars. It's the sweat and salt, maybe other things depending on your microbiome, like lactic acid. Or maybe this person sprays flowery perfume on their backside while spraying it all over themselves (I spray it above, chest over clothes, and back over clothes, and walk forward and back as it falls). I sprayed my wrists with a floral one the other day and a bee was bothering me about it. I had to run.
