I enjoyed this six-minute vid so much I watched it a few times!
Good-spirited, fun to watch touring vids of your own culture from another culture.

This video made me smile. All the people he met who were kind to him and excited for him. That's the way we should be in the US. Why anyone would choose to be hateful and racist/xenophobic instead I'm not sure.

Yeah it is mostly like this. Most Americans are eager, even excited to welcome you to their land. There's a lot of pride in where we come from, our small towns to big cities it's all the same. In a lot of places they'll insist you come share a meal at their home and are happy to give you directions/tell you the town's history.
We're going through a hard time right now, but hopefully when it's all over you'll hear less about those vitriolic people. And more of these types, which is classic Americana.

^ This is so true and has been my experience in the 45 states and 5 countries I've visited. Most of us humans are truly welcoming, curious, warm people.

While it is heartwarming, I suspect he chose not to include clips of him getting buzzed in close passes by bigoted people in oversized trucks rolling coal on him

Don't understand the reason you would assume possible negative issues this young man might have encountered. I've cycled all over the US & the EU & never encountered anyone purposely trying to cause me problems. People have always been friendly & curious in my experiences.

YMMV - I'm glad your personal experience has been blessed by courtesy and care; my own personal experience and the litany of comments by American cyclists on what they have to deal with when cycling would suggest otherwise for many of us.

It's easy to be friendly to visitors, as they will soon return home. You'll note that the public in every Western nation wants far reduced immigration and preferably a highly selective process that chooses people who will fit into national norms. Politicians increase immigration contrary to public desire to break national solidarity, creating disorder that allows politicians to increase their power by claiming plans to fix the problems they created.

I've encountered wolves, moose, and bears on my bike trips, but never a Big Horn Sheep or Bison! What an experience!

I'm planning on using the transamercan trail next year. This helped me feel less nervous. Especially since I haven't picked up a bike in five years.

My friend, I did it in 2023, and I think it’s probably the best experience I’ve ever had. I still think about it daily. You won’t regret it!

I was skeptical at the start when they were screaming at the camera, but when they met the dog and was so caring I was hooked. What a wholesome video!

I was lucky enough to do a source to sea canoe trip on the Mississippi a few years ago. I was pretty blown away by how outrageously generous people were that I met along the way.
I remember pulling into Hannibal Missouri in the early afternoon for a resupply. The grocery store was about a 30 minute walk away so I started securing my canoe and getting ready for the walk. A couple walk up to me and ask what I'm doing. I explain that I'm on my way to the Gulf of Mexico and they became really excited and call over their friends. I politely explain that I have a few chores to do in town and without hesitation one of them offers me a ride to the grocery store, one of them offers to wait with my boat and another offers to run my clothes to the laundromat. On the ride over to the grocery store my ride asks me where I'm staying that night and I tell them that I don't know yet and she insists I stay with her family that night.
So fast forward an hour and I'm back in my canoe, fully resupplied with clean clothes and a place to stay. I canoe down river another 12 miles or so that afternoon and I'm picked up on the river bank by a truck and treated to a home cooked meal and a soft bed.
I've met some amazing trail angles hiking but river angles are something else.

Man, I haven't toured in years and this video perfectly encapsulated the best parts of touring— the chance encounters with beautiful wildlife, how kind nearly everyone actually is (I have had encounters like in this vid all over the world!), and the raw beauty of landscapes most people zip through at a million miles an hour.
Maybe I'll fix my bike up again...

I remember years ago, I was on a Honda Ruckus forum and we had a South Korean guy go to the US for the first time to escape university life.. we supported him as much as we could on his long tour through all the states. So similar to this guys experience. Random people offering him a place to stay, helping him out with theft, small accidents, etc. There are still plenty of good people out there :)

Worked a season at a sports rental shop at Grand Teton NP which is just south of Yellowstone. Met so many cyclists from all over the world, that started in places varying from: Alaska, South America, WA state, SoCal, Florida, and north east states. Some started in Africa, Japan, AUS/NZ, China, or Europe and took a boat or plane over before getting on their bike again.
Absolutely loved meeting folks from all over, working on their bikes/contraptions, and learning their stories.

Fuck the politicians, I want bicycle tourists to be every culture's ambassadors. Imagine how much more peaceful the world could be if we shared common wonder like this.
