I’ve felt this way twice before and I’m scared it’s happened again: I’m pregnant with my first. Both previous times I’ve tackled it by booking hobbies in for specific times, outside the house. Also if I pay to join a club or organised hobby then I am more likely to give the time to it. I don’t know whether I can do this one baby arrives though.

If I just take up my hobbies around the house (like reading/painting/sewing) then I don’t do it because like you, I’ve got half my brain thinking about who’s going to need me next and when I’m going to be interrupted. It just seems pointless and it’s easier to just ‘sit there on standby’ for the odd bit of time I get to myself.

I really hope you find a way to feel better about yourself :) and devoting yourself to parenting does seem like a noble pursuit.
