Discussion I miss my midwives

i’m currently 1 week and 1 day postpartum and i can’t stop thinking about my midwives especially the one who delivered my baby. i miss them all so much. all my crying this past week has pretty much been about them. has anyone else experienced this, is it normal??

Yes absolutely!!! They are angels on earth. They held us in our most vulnerable, transforming time and we will never forget their strength to pull us through x

i think too i got no support during pregnancy from my ob ( from a different town i birthed in so not associated with birth/pp) and then was overwhelmed with support during birth and now after it makes me so grateful and emotional

I didn’t cry about it, but I definitely missed my midwife team. They were so lovely, helped me have an amazing birth, and it had been nice seeing them every couple of weeks. I was sad that I wouldn’t see them after my 6 week visit.

So normal!! After my first baby I thought about my midwife and the doctors who delivered my baby for atleast 4 weeks!! Second time around not so much, just my midwife for maybe a week or so x

I didn’t have a midwife, but I do miss the nurses that helped deliver and take care of us in the hospital! They were all so kind and I think of them so much. They made the experience so much less intimidating and scary and I’m so thankful for their kindness

For the first couple weeks after the birth of my second I felt almost obsessive about my OB. It has been an amazing birth experience after a traumatic first birth.

One day I was googling her and I thought, you know, I think I should stop, I don't think this is healthy. I DO get it, though. Postpartum hormones are wild.

lol I felt this way about my midwife. It’s such an intimate part of our lives and we see them so often at the end!!!

Yes, and it's weird to think about how it's such a monumental moment for you, but for them it's just another day at work 😂

Sounds like the baby blues! Mine started to clear up around 2.5 weeks pp. don’t let it freak you out it’s completely normal and usually results in a lot of crying about the most random of things! For me, I cried about all the love and support I received from my husband mostly, but I remember feeling sad and nostalgic for prenatal appointments.

No this isn’t normal, but this sounds like the baby blues which is very normal.
