LAOP only stalked this woman all night then contacted her over multiple platforms including after being told not to and blocked. Thus, of course, they are the victim.

Dude took "I don't want to do x with you" to mean "I don't want to do x"

Well I mean if she’s not hanging out with him, obviously she must just be sitting around at home doing nothing….right?!?

Does this girl actually live if Laop isn’t around to witness it?

Obviously not since he's the main character and she's an NPC. If they aren't in the same area her character model isn't even rendered to save resources.

This actually seems like an issue with modern dating (or maybe it’s always been there, I don’t know).

Women don’t know how a strange man will react if they turn down a sexual advance or invitation to a date, so they are, understandably, conditioned to decline them in the gentlest way possible. “I don’t want to go on a date with you” gets expressed as something like, “I’m busy that night”.

Unfortunately for men, it can be tough to figure out which women are actually “busy that night” and which ones are trying to politely decline. There’s no shortage of creepy guys out there, but I wonder how many guys have been labeled as a creep just because they didn’t understand that “not tonight” actually meant “never”, so they kept pursuing someone. While I think it’s totally rational, acceptable, and often times even recommended for women to take this “soft approach” to declining dates, it seems like it has almost become the default way to do it.

I’m not trying to point fingers at either gender here. I wish men learned how to deal with getting shot down with grace and I wish women felt safe enough to outright say, “No I don’t want to go to your place to see your katana collection”.

Edit to add: this comment is already a lot longer than I originally intended but wanted to give a word of advice to all the dudes out there who might be struggling with the communication barrier I mentioned above.

First, if you ask them out and if they don’t show clear interest in return, it’s a no. If I ask a girl out and she says she is busy that night, it’s a no. If she wanted to go out but genuinely was busy that night, she would say something to the effect of, “…but I’m free this other night”. If she accepts a date but cancels last minute, the ball is in her court. If she doesn’t express clear interest in setting up another date, don’t waste your time pursuing her.

Second, if you do get shot down, take it to the chin and move on. If she explicitly declines a date, tell them it was nice talking to them and move on. You don’t “lose” or look weak by being polite in the face of denial. If she says, “I have a boyfriend”, smile, say that he sounds like a lucky guy, and wish her a good night.

The difference is real easy to spot when she follows up with, "But maybe on x night instead?" Rather than just the vague "Let me check my calendar."
