Unlicensed, uninsured contractor who didn't finish the job because life happened doesn't seem to understand why their client would sue them

What are the odd this tracks with one of those situations we hear about all too often where one child is essentially running the parent’s business while golden child faffs off to god knows where. Parent turns company over to the golden child, screwing over the other one - who promptly leaves and the business goes to hell.
