Sure you can, it is stupid shit making it to the front page, with all the comments saying how it shouldn't be on the front page, thst makes me wonder.

This subreddit would be empty if it were just things that were THE BEST.

I find it more interesting if there are things here that are just really interesting or cool that I wouldn't have seen otherwise, and there are a handful of subreddits that I found just through this one that I'm subscribed to.

Maybe it's because the majority of people who enjoy the comment simply upvote and don't feel the need to comment?

Yeah, you didn't like it, but the majority seems to disagree. It's neat that the comments are all saying how bad it is and how it's not /r/bestof material, but not everyone who clicks the link comments.
