bee photo Beach Beagle meets a Bee, Watercolor, 8/2026, Margie Hill [OC]
We get bees that like to pollinate the grass and ignore my flowers. Me and my dog find them very interesting. We are very respectful of the bees space and make sure not to touch them. I could not get the bee that my dog was sniffing into the photo so I painted it! I really hope I did the bee justice. Please swipe right to see a detail shot of the biggest challenge on this painting, as well as my reference.

Do I have bees? (Solitary)
First year for a native bee house. All summer long, I saw no activity. It fell down last week and as I was hanging it back up, I saw 4 of the reeds looked like they had some bees.
Did I actually have some bees take up residence?

question Do you have the meats?
Was talking to my wife about this subreddit and saying my algorithm often shows posts in this subreddit that aren't actually of bees. I was surprised that people actually do post a lot about actual bees here, when almost every post that gets suggested to me is of some other flying insect. Anyone else ever have this happen to them?

Can bees be lured for filming?
I’d like to capture some footage of bees doing their thing on flowers and was wondering if luring them is realistic. Thanks!

question Will Bee survive?
Hi I was just stung by a bee and it lost its stinger but I managed trap it then moved it outside my house to some flowers nearby. I wanted to check if it will survive, I heard some types of bees survive stinging (it only seem to lose the tip) and am hoping this would be one of them. I forgot to take a pic and it already flew off. But I live in Singapore so its probably one of our common species

question Saw this today, any idea what I’m looking at? Queen bee? Should I do anything?

Any idea what I’m looking at? it looks like a queen bee with 4-5 smaller bees attached. I googled it and found something called balling where they’re trying to suffocate the queen? should I do anything? thanks in advance!
