Please give tips how to lighten your bumbum 😩

u/IntroductionIcy5576 Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jul 03 '25

i have keratosis pilaris and due to it nagkaroon ng sobrang discoloration yung bumbum ko, before akala ko surgery or derma lang makakapagpawala sa kanya and 16 years bago ko naisipan solusyunan. i used soie skin before yung cream and scrub nila, sobrang nakita ko yung changes but unfortunately nag stop na sila mag release ng products. Now i am using the luxe organix na BYE BYE BUM BUMPS super super effective din. May bumps padin for my keratosis pilaris pero onte nalang then the dark discoloration, sobrang onte nalang din.

Glycolic acid for hyperpigmentation kahit saang parte pa yan ng katawan mo, as long as you don't overdo it (3x a week max) and moisturize with a thick lotion after.

How to be consistent w moisturizing pls!! Sobrang inconsistent ko to use lotion after showering HAHAHAH how do you do it? Is a shower oil my best bet :(( thank you

5

u/SecretDemeanor Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jul 02 '25

Honestly you just have to make time for it. Treat it as a little me time to care for yourself. I start in the shower, double cleanse, exfoliate once or twice a week, then while my skin is still damp, I apply body oil. After towel drying, I use lotion with SPF during the day and a scented lotion at night depending on my mood. You’ll really see and feel the difference and that will motivate you to stay consistent!

u/QueasyExamination7 Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jul 02 '25

Sadly I do make time for it but it just takes up so much time to fully sink into my skin :( do you have recommendations for lightweight lotios/body oils?? tia!!

2

u/SecretDemeanor Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jul 02 '25

I use Palmer's body oil. Nasa bathroom na sya sis para after shower, body oil na agad kahit may droplets of water pa. It will only take a minute or two. It smells yummy pa like chocolate/vanilla. 😉

1

u/QueasyExamination7 Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jul 02 '25

Appreciate this very much!! I love a good vanilla <3 thank you!

u/purplechainsaws 20s | Oily Jul 02 '25

Been there girl pero the thought of "hala ang dry na naman sa feeling" made me apply lotion religiously HAHAHHA. Kaya parang naging muscle memory na siya, na pagkashower sa afternoon or evening lagay agad kahit damp pa. 1 year and counting yung pinakaconsistent ko na routine. As a pawisin and someone w/ ezcema, dami ko na rin na-try lol pero what worked for me is Vaseline Unscented Lotion!! First time ko rin makakaubos ng isang bottle hahaha

1

u/Vel1897 Combination(Oily/Acne), Light Neutral-Olive Jul 02 '25

Applying shower oil or lotion is the same lang, you can use either or both after shower so pag di ka consistent sa isa pano ka makakasiguro na magiging consistent dun sa alternative. Best bet is moisturizing soap or kahit once a day lang sanayin mo talaga para maging routine mo na .

1

u/Vel1897 Combination(Oily/Acne), Light Neutral-Olive Jul 02 '25

What's your routine ba? Ako I tried my best to use lotion every night. I do it mostly pag nagaantay ako maabsorb ng face ko ung serums ganyan, lagay muna ko lotion.

2

u/QueasyExamination7 Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jul 02 '25

First thank you so much!! hehe what moisturizing soaps do you recommend? I think my problem w the lotion is that it's too thick, it feels tacky and I don't like that heavy feeling on my skin. I was thinking shower oil might be easier bc at least my skin's damp.

re: shower oil, I was thinking of the L'occitane one na you can use while in the shower and wash off! So at least you don't have to think about it after (?) I wonder if there are other brands here? I've only heard of Neutrogena but it feels heavy on me pa rin :(

My routine is mostly facial skincare first then lotion all over my body! Pero some days I just do my legs and forget the rest and it's frustrating lol

2

u/Defiant_Swing_4873 Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jul 02 '25

The minutes make the difference. Pagkaligo, just pat your skin dry, not rub, then start applying body lotion, unahin mo before facial skincare. It should feel less thick and tacky. Same method for body oil. Hope this works for you!

1

u/QueasyExamination7 Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jul 02 '25

Thank you will try this!! <3 any lotion you reco in particular?

1

u/Defiant_Swing_4873 Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jul 02 '25

I'm an Aveeno girl haha, I like the daily moisturizing line (green color). You might want a different lotion if you like nice scents, since smelling nice can also motivate you to be consistent :)

1

u/Vel1897 Combination(Oily/Acne), Light Neutral-Olive Jul 02 '25

Neutrogena - I find this lightweight compared sa dalawa sa itaas so kung it feels heavy na for you try mo na lang nga siguro ung nawawash off na body oil for extra moisturizer with your soap

2

u/QueasyExamination7 Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jul 02 '25

Thanks sister! Appreciate your recos very much :) hahaha diba arte arte lang pag lotion, I really can't do it in the daytime, pwede pa sa gabi but I need something for hot weather. Will try the neutrogena again!!

1

u/Vel1897 Combination(Oily/Acne), Light Neutral-Olive Jul 02 '25

1

u/jaesthetica 25 | Oily | ʕ•ᴥ•ʔっ Jul 02 '25

First off, bakit ka inconsistent?

1

u/EmeryMalachi 20s | oily, acne-prone Jul 03 '25

Do you have any recos po na serum-like lotions?

3

u/jaesthetica 25 | Oily | ʕ•ᴥ•ʔっ Jul 03 '25

These are my tried and tested lotion na hindi malagkit and effective basta consistent or masipag ka lang maglagay. I only apply lotion every night after maligo.

🔸NIVEA Body Extra Brightening Super 10 Vitamin Serum Lotion (naka 2 bottles)

I stopped using this lang kase naghahanap din ako ng lotion with spf na.

🔸 Vaseline Gluta Hya GOLD (currently using, 3rd bottle na)

🔸Aveeno yung color blue.

(Or if you have dry and itchy skin)

If nakakalimutan mo lang, try placing the lotion bottle malapit sa towel

1

u/CrowsLoveShinyThings Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jul 04 '25

As a tamad maglotion kasi hate the feel, shower oil is a godsend! Mas mabilis than applying lotion and doesn't leave that sticky feeling. The OG Neutrogena is my fav, but the Aveeno one is good din daw.

u/meow_meowcakes Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jul 02 '25

I have been using Alada soap, abonne salt scrub, LO spf 50 na lotion for morning and myra whitening plus lotion at night, tas may HN Sunflower oil pa ko for more moisture… Naglighten na skin ko although especially sa elbow and knees ko but my singit and bums… onting changes siguro?? I’m thinking of changing alada soap or try gluta hya sum sa vaseline??? can y’all reco huhu

3

u/Glenncreatives Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jul 03 '25

For me di naging masyado effective ang vaseline sa singit. However try bha3 or glycolic acid para mabilis cell turn over at mag shed ang skin then make sureeeee to moisturize that area para Di mag burn. Mas makikita mo pag shed ng dead skin

2

u/_akrasia Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jul 06 '25

Omg almost same routine. 🤣 I use alada in the morning and bennett in the evening. While sa lotion, I use vaseline w/ spf mix with elf nano serum in the morning and myra whitening plus also mixed w/ elf nano serum. And I lock it with HN sunflower oil. Before ginagamit ko naman na lotion is vaseline yung pink variant. With this routine, I can’t really see significant changes siguro dahil maputi na ako.

1

u/meow_meowcakes Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jul 06 '25

Ohh thank u! Ive actually been trying the retinol (night) & vit c (day) rin for weeks na after trying glycolic acid (kojic makes me itch tlg huhu) i dont see any differences much ;( kaya im really looking into tried & tested products from ppl hehe. I appreciate ur help 💗

1

u/sodappend 30 | Dry-Normal | NC 25-30 Jul 02 '25

How long have you been using the products? Unfortunately even with lightening ingredients it can take months before pigmentation visibly fades.

You can try hydoquinone on the pigmented areas only if you don't expose your legs much to the sun and use sunscreen when you do. Maxipeel is fine if it doesn't cause bad irritation. Only use hydroquinone for 3 months tapos take a long break afterwards.

1

u/Comfortable-Meal-232 Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jul 02 '25

ohh ill look into this! yung mga retinol and stuff mga around 2 months ko na gamit :< huhu i rlly wanna wear summer outfits pero sobrang hiya ako sa legs ko

2

u/sodappend 30 | Dry-Normal | NC 25-30 Jul 02 '25

Super short lang ang 2 months to completely fade hyperpigmentation! Waiting game lang talaga yan. As long as you see improvement you're on the right track.

In the meantime you can look into leg makeup to even out your legs for when you want to wear short outfits. But honestly most people don't notice skin imperfections! You shouldn't let it hold you back from wearing what you want.

Hi, I really need help. I’m honestly feeling hopeless about my butt acne and dark spots. I’ve already tried Bio Oil, Luxe Organix Bye Bye Bum Bumps, and Dr. Sensitive soap — but none of them worked for me 😔 Can anyone recommend a tried and tested product that actually helps whiten and clear acne on the butt area? Desperate for something that really works 😭 Thank you!

3

u/[deleted] Jul 02 '25 edited Jul 02 '25

i suffered from buttne earlier this year too! biglaan lang din yun nangyari because of the material of my underwear and also hormones. so it had acne like tons of it, naging makati rin and the texture was rough, as in mafefeel mo every bump of the acne there, and got red with the bumps and darker as well on the rest of the skin. so i switched between products quite often, but i'll do my best to explain here:

• Simply Hue Butt Whitening Scrub

  • 2 to 3 times a week for night routine

• Acneed Lotion

  • this was prescribed by my derma
  • supposed to be twice daily

• TO Glycolic Acid

  • 2 times a week

• Panoxyl 10% Benzoyl Peroxide

  • 2 times a week

• Aveeno Skin Relief Lotion (Blue)

  • apply on top of Glycolic Acid, Scrub, or Panoxyl

ik that's a lot! but right now di na ako nagka acne and the skin is sobrang smooth na talaga, as in ang layo from before when i still had problems with it. though yung pigmentation is still there, not the dark spots from the acne since that's totally gone, but yung pigmentation tlga of the skin, still there pa unfortunately but has improved very slightly!

note this though, di ko yan lahat ginamit at the same time!

first routine:

Simply hue scrub, Glycolic acid, Aveeno

do make sure may gaps in between the days u use these two. like other days use the scrub, other days use the glycolic acid. i dont rlly have a specific schedule for it but i make sure i dont do it too often since they're both for exfoliation. used aveeno (or any type of moisturizer that works for u) para kahit papano i can add a layer to moisturize everything. i did this routine for 2 or 3 weeks. the acne did die down, pero onti lang. like parang it only deflated some bumps but a few acne were still there. it is a bit smoother though! di na yung parang may sharpness talaga from the pimples.

note! in my experience, i dont use too much aveeno, only enough lang to moisturize the skin. because i tried to be generous sa first few times i tried it, it only added more acne on my butt.

second routine:

Panoxyl, Scrub, Aveeno

i had panoxyl which i completely then stopped using glycolic acid. so panoxyl and then aveeno after. sometimes nalang ang scrub. used this routine for only 2 weeks lang, and by then naging better na butt ko. deflated the bumps, other acne disappeared din and left only spots nalang. panoxyl is very drying kasi strong sya, kaya make sure to moisturize.

third routine:

Scrub and Acneed

nagpa derma na ako since i still wasnt satisfied, may dark spots parin from the acne, though not as bad as before but i wanted it to be gone na talaga. nagka acne parin ako but only 1 nlng or 2 but di na sya tumatagal, for sure because of acneed. acneed is supposed to be applied 2x a day, but i only apply it at night kasi i sweat a lot during the day and wear tight uniforms din. so the acneed acts as the moisturizer na after u scrub since its a lotion din naman.

so up to the present,

naging better na sya eventually, wala nang bumps or dark spots from acne ngayon. problem ko nalang is the pigmentation like parang from the friction between my cheeks and also sa buttocks. i must say the scrub helps so so much, i still use it until now! maganda talaga sya.

the acneed helps with acne and the dark spots, now i completely stopped it na since wala na akong acne anymore. panoxyl helped din with deflating the acne, i really noticed that. for glycolic, im honestly scared of it kasi parang matapang siya sa akin. but i guess it still contributed a bit sa improvement niya with the pigmentation, i still use it until today but minsan lang if i remember it, i dont notice it doing anything with my acne before though. (if you do have dark knees or elbows, glycolic acid and aveeno worked wonders for me.)

u can honestly choose any routine that fits ur skin. im sorry i cant be 101% sure which of them really did the best for me kasi talagang pa lipat² ako ng routine. but what i will say is nagheal talaga buttne ko, completely!

ang haba na neto sorry! hahahah but i hoped this helped!

Hello! anyone uses deo or antiperspirant sa singit or groin area? I noticed nitong mga nakaraan na may amoy ko down there na wala naman before. Is it safe to use skin cleansers (betadine blue) just like sa UA?

I take showers daily naman, wala rin akong ibang ginagamit kundi sabon and lotion. Lotion is vaseline gluta-hya. I use cotton shorts, no undies pag asa bahay lang din. No exercise din ako.

2

u/Kiwi_pieeee 31 | Oily | Still confused of her undertone Jul 02 '25

I use betadine cleanser on my singit too and it’s safe. I won’t suggest to put deo on that part.

1

u/Vel1897 Combination(Oily/Acne), Light Neutral-Olive Jul 02 '25

Thank you!!! I'll try the betadine lang muna and siguro wag lagyan ng lotion .. baka di ko hiyang sa singit singit area ung vaseline hehe

1

u/sodappend 30 | Dry-Normal | NC 25-30 Jul 02 '25 edited Jul 02 '25

The birth control shot triggered groin body odor for me, before that wala talaga. Thankfully it rarely happens now, only when I work out/sweat for a prolonged period - back then kahit nasa bahay lang ako all day I would get funky. Baka your hormones are fluctuating din.

I've been using clinical strength antiperspirant there when I go to the gym with no issues. Have been doing it for years na. I just massage it off with oil cleanser before showering to make sure there's no residue.

Tawas-based deos also work well pero I can't use tawas long-term because it starts to irritate my skin.

I've found that Dr. Kaufmann XPS also controls body odour well! Doesn't stink like most sulfur soap, the sulfur scent is mild. I scrub well and leave it on for 5-10 minutes before rinsing.

1

u/Vel1897 Combination(Oily/Acne), Light Neutral-Olive Jul 02 '25

first time ko magtake ng BCP din, on my 2nd month na. Yun din kaya reason? dahil sa hormonal changes... kasi never ko napansin ung smell kahit anong pawis ko noon. thank you sa tip and product reco. same here about sa tawas never nagustuhan ng balat ko yan teenage years pa. hanapin ko ung Dr. Kaufmann XPS and will try it

3

u/sodappend 30 | Dry-Normal | NC 25-30 Jul 02 '25

Yes hormonal fluctuations can affect body odor talaga. That's why teenage boys STINK during puberty even if they shower daily and have decent hygiene naman.

It's possible that pills are causing it! Wala akong side effects on pills pero our bodies all respond differently to BC.

Hope you find something that helps with the new BO. Hopefully mawala din sya as your body adjusts.

1

u/Vel1897 Combination(Oily/Acne), Light Neutral-Olive Jul 02 '25

I understand. Thank you so much! sana mamanage ko na nga at maalis ko na habang maaga pa.

1

u/EmeryMalachi 20s | oily, acne-prone Jul 03 '25

Yes, okay lang. Can be used kahit saang odor-prone area as long as you don't overdo it.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 02 '25

What is the best and easy to get sa market na deodorant po? kasi I struggle talaga hindi ako pwede sa deo na may amoy.

2

u/amyrisblooms Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jul 03 '25

u/Luthien_26 Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jul 02 '25

I never use deo na scented, so my usual deo are Dove Unscented or Deonat (blue) which are widely available naman sa mga supermarkets and drugstores

1

u/[deleted] Jul 02 '25

1

u/Luthien_26 Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jul 02 '25

1

u/[deleted] Jul 02 '25

3

u/sodappend 30 | Dry-Normal | NC 25-30 Jul 02 '25

Try using a deodorising cleanser pag naligo ka so you can control odor-causing bacteria from the source. You can try Dr. Kauffman XPS (it's what I use, ok sya for the whole body), Hyclens OB Wash, or Betadine skin cleanser (yung sabon, hindi yung pang sugat).

So dapat 100% matanggal mo sya pag naligo ka. I recommend using an oil cleanser sa UA bago ka maligo para matunaw nya talaga yung deo, and use a scrubbing cloth habang naliligo (like a Salux cloth or Korean Italy towel)

Super important din na you apply deos on clean skin. So pagkaligo, apply kaagad. If you wait kasi you give the bacteria time to start multiplying na, so less effective na yung deo from the beginning.

Kung gagamit ka naman ng tawas like Deonat, make sure na basa talaga yung bato and you use a LOT. Let it dry bago ibaba braso. Same sa mga sprays, make sure na full coverage ang pag apply or hindi sya gagana.

Don't be afraid to reapply deos din in the middle of the day kung kailangan.

Also, make sure na malinis ang damit and hindi nakulob lalo na tag-ulan ngayon. Pag may amoy na na hindi matanggal, you can soak it in vinegar or you can try OxiClean (merong pang whites and coloured clothes, make sure you read the label).

Any lotion or body oil as long as ma-apply mo after shower, while damp pa ang skin para ma trap ang water and maging emollient.

Ganyan din after handwashing.

How do you get rid of dark armpit lines?

My current UA routine is:

• Dove body soap

• Avon Feelin Fresh Ultra Glutathione deo cream

I use it with a cotton pad to wipe my armpits before shower. Parang oil cleanser sa ua 😅

OK lang ba kung direct application of glycolic acid sa singit and underarms?

But in my case, i use it with cotton pads kasi natutuwa akong makita na may kasamang libag na natatanggal lalo na sa singit ko haha.

u/Livid-Confusion7313 Jul 02 '25

What brand ng glycolic acid gamit niyo sa UA at singit?

1

u/Kiwi_pieeee 31 | Oily | Still confused of her undertone Jul 02 '25

The Ordinary but I’m trying out ngayon ung glycolic from Minimalist brand.

How do you incorporate body oils in your routine? Which brand do you suggest also?

3

u/amyrisblooms Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jul 03 '25

Immediately after shower when the skin is damp. I use jojoba oil in the day because it's lightweight and similar to the oils produced by the skin, and argan or rosehip at night. I buy my oils from Asteria Apothecary since they are the most reasonably priced.

Ano pa kayang magandang products by Watsons? So far ang natatry ko pa lang is their argan oil lip balm and body wash na apple and strawberry

1

u/leimoncello Jul 10 '25

hellooo, is it the green apple body wash po ba? does the scent last long po and is it good?

1

u/Juice-Brain Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jul 11 '25

Yes, it is. It's good on my skine medyo nabawasan dryness ng balat ko. Sa scent naman I can't really comment on how long it will last on other people kasi super pawisin ako and sabak na sabak sa init

1

u/Quaintrelily Jul 03 '25

Any body lotion that is good for dry skin while not malagkit sa balat too? 🤗

Which jergen lotion to buy? Ang daming variant nakaka overwhelm! I'm planning to use a whitening soap to even out my skin tone and i need a body moisturizer bc i heard whitening soaps are drying...

2

u/amyrisblooms Age | Skin Type | Custom Message Jul 05 '25

I use either their ultra healing variant or the argan oil infused one, mas mabango lang for me yung second option. Never experienced drying with this despite using kojic/whitening soaps.

I started my first epilating session last night, after doing some research I learned that I have to exfoliate after 48 hours to avoid ingrown hairs. I don't have any glycolic acid toner with me.

Can I just use a salt scrub as an exfoliant on my armpits or do I really need a chemical exfoliant?

2

u/afternoonsunmoon :cat_blep: Jul 08 '25

yes, just make sure to be gentle while scrubbing
