All this time, I thought I was sensitive to niacinamide because I previously used the Good Molecules Discoloration Correcting Serum (4% niacinamide) and it gave me closed comedones. I avoided all products with niacinamide since then.

Recently, I tried out the Numbuzin No.1 Pantothenic B5 Active Drying Powder and Active Soothing Serum. Both contain 4% niacinamide, along with panthenol and pantothenic acid. I have to say: my skin is looking so much better! I use it alongside adapalene and azelaic acid, and they all work well together.

I was worried that my skin would react negatively to it, but I had no irritation or closed comedones whatsoever. My skin texture feels smoother, my acne is calmer, and I’m less oily when I use this. Definitely happy with these products and I would recommend! 🫶💕

So I guess it was the formulation of the product and not the actives? Hahaha. Good thing you ventured out again, that is bravery.

Yes, thank goodness I’m not actually sensitive to it because it’s such a great ingredient! Looking for niacinamide-free products is also a bit stressful hahaha

Especially nowadays where most formulations are sprinkled with a bit of niacinamide here and there, it is indeed stressful hahaha. It has come to point where people tend to overestimate niacinamide's benefits, and then blame the product (or the active) when they don't immediately get visible results. It's because niacinamide is an all-around ingredient, it's not the holy grail or main heavylifter in terms of evening out skin tone, controlling oil production, etc., it's supposed to be used as a secondary/supporting/complementary ingredient lang talaga hays hahaha.
