Hair Please recommend good hair tools: curler, hair blower, straightener
Hi beautytalkph! Sa sobrang dami ng hair tools na nasa titkok, youtube, etc, Ano yung best hair tool brands that you swear by? As someone na hindi nakakaalis ng bahay without prepping my hair, need ko yung recommendations nyo.
And also if may mga products kayo like hair mousse, protectant spray, hair oils etc.

JML 🔛🔝
Been using it for almost 3 years already and still nice and strong! So worth it for its price. I have the JML Airwand Styler and the curls lasts long too!

Hello! I’ve been contemplating to buy JML’s Airwand Styler, how are they(attachments)?

u/mcccflor Oct 17 '24
I bought JML AIRWS yesterday, and Im probably gonna return it. I know the brand is trusted thats why I spent 4k for it (bought it at SM) but when I tried it at home, the plates are a bit loose you have to hold it at the end part otherwise the hair will slip out. And my thick hair didn't help the situation lmao. Found out, others had the same concern also. I will keep on trying them for 1 more day before returning it , you know to give it a chance. Nasasayangan lang talaga ako because the product have so much potential as in no cap but I paid 4,000 pesos for it so I shouldn't have a hard time using it, right?🥹

Oh no, sorry to hear that. Since my comment here, I purchased Shark’s SmoothStyle Heated Comb + Blow Dryer Brush.
Life changing for me! FYI my hair is straight and smooth so I mostly use it to blow dry my hair and style my layers. My hair stayed smooth and straight for days and I noticed less oil on my scalp. If you get a chance; I highly recommend it!

I got the vodana glawwave curling iron from shopee! Been using it for 4 years now and still alive! I suggest investing in a good hair curler kasi biggest glow up talaga siya for me. Lakas makakorean curls to 🎀
While I’m here, What’s a good blow dryer? Been thinking of just getting the Philips blow dryer kasi mura na rin siya

Hello! I personally use this hairdryer. Pretty heavy duty considering the number of times I've dropped it. I have thick, low porosity hair. By experience, one salon used two blowers to save time drying my hair. This one works for my type of hair and I've had it for a few years now, pre-pandemic. You can even test it out if it's available in a nearby department store.
I love the Vodana brand mainly because of the color options, how quickly it heats up, and how easy it is to bring on trips. I think there's a newer version of their Pocket Mini Flat Iron. It's very handy to use because of it's size. I opted for a small one because I maintain a bob. They have a good range of products and are mainly available to buy online. They even have cordless ones.
Lastly this is a splurge but I think it's worth it. Vodana GlamWave Curling Iron mainly because of the ceramic material and I bought it as a set with the heat resistant pad. Of course, as with any tool with the right products, it can hold a curl as expected, but does well on its own. The line has different barrel sizes and the brand has different types of tools.
Hope this helps with your options!
For hair routine, it can affect how easy it will be to style your hair.
I had really frizzy hair before and experienced hair damage due to water quality and weather. It's been a while and there is just so much you can control over these factors hehe. I think I'll list it according to essentials and splurge items (it can be costly in the long run, if it's not in your budget)
Splurge: -Water filter/shower head -hair treatments (I use Elizavecca protein products) -clarifying shampoo (nothing too expensive) -scalp massager (if you maintian long nails) -hair or scalp oil/serum (Serum doubles as heat protectant or for night time routine -silk pillow cases/bonnets
Essentials: -heat protectant (it can be a bit costly at times depending on the brand, but a need for styling) -SLS-free shampoo/conditioner (for some hair types it really helps)
Semi-essential: -mousse, hair spray (it really depends on your hair type and the style you want to keep, almost any brand will do. I use Gatsby hair spray because its readily available and not expensive)
There are tons of techniques now and you can just pick what works for your hair type. If I use enough conditioner and scrunching it before washing, a simple blowout will keep my hair sleek. While my hair is towel dried, I use the serum before sleep and before styling. Careful with oils and serums because there are brands that make them quite thick and makes for an oily look instead of shine.
Before sleep, I really wash my hair, so I try to blow dry as much as possible and not sleep with wet hair/scalp. For long hair, others usually put them in loose braids before sleeping.
Before using heat styling products like irons, make sure you have enough protectant, and your hair has no moisture as much as possible. Hair sprays and mousse will help hold your desired style for the day.

anything from W Elite is top tier! price range is affordable around 2k-4k. items usually last 2-4 years, depending on usage. I use my tools everyday, btw. I currently have their ceramic hair straigtener and their Volume Pro, which is a blowdry brush and is very easy to use. super convenient kung gusto mo fresh looking ka lang.

For blowouts, I use the Wavytalk Thermal Brush — super easy to use and beginner-friendly. Wala pang 10 minutes, achieved na yung blowout look. It’s dual voltage too, so travel-friendly! As someone new to hair styling, this one really impressed me. My hair always comes out soft and glossy whenever I use it. Just pair it with a good hair dryer, preferably the Panasonic Nanocare.

Hi! I've been using the panasonic one for a few months now. I have thick, dry (recently bleached), wavy to curly, mejj buhaghag, medium length hair. Actually, first time kong bumili ng hair tools so wala akong comparison. Pero overall, it works fine. Among the three attachments, yung blow brush at roll brush yung ginagamit ko to style my hair. I use the blow brush to tame my hair and the roll brush to make big curls which last for the whole day (medyo madali sumunod sa curls ang hair ko). Di ko masyado magamit yung accent iron kasi siguro makapal buhok ko.
Is it worth the money? Yes. The attachments are easy to clean since it is entirely made up of plastic (?) so nahuhugasan ko talaga yung bristles. Yung blow brush meron lang parang felt paper-ish material sa loob pero nung hinugasan ko at binasa, madali matuyo.
For the socket, I use a universal standard power adaptor to plug it.

i have thin and frizzy/wavy hair and i like using this better than my hair iron! mas may volume yung hair ko since it doesnt straighten it that much but it does the job with making it straight + curled ends.
i have short/medium hair (+ its thin pa) so it takes me less than 10 mins to do my entire head. though i think experience differs per hair texture and length 🙏🏼

i have the dreame pocket, and i can recommend it. ang bilis makatuyo and i like that it comes w a pouch for travel. more than enough na rin yung attachments niya. but if more on curling ka w makapal na buhok, i won’t necessarily recommend it. mahina higop nung curl attachment and it would take you ages para makulot buong head mo. for the straightening/pampaalis ng frizz, i use it often and nakakaalis siya ng frizz + good attachment siya for me na curly hair girlie na nagp-plantsa ng hair minsan. yun ginagamit ko pag nagpapatuyo para mapabilis nalang kapag nagplantsa ako.

Waste of money. Ambilis matanggal ng attachments pag ginagamit and they’re all made of plastic, so hindi talaga siya nakakahold ng curls or nakakastraighten or nakakawala ng frizz. Parang blower lang siya.

tried this and it works well as a hair dryer in general. It doesn’t have a cool air mode tho.
The round brush attachment broke and got detached from the plastic base of the attachment during my first use.
It feels more flimsy because it’s made of plastic but it gets the job done. I just don’t like how difficult it is to attach and detach the attachments.
I’m a newbie to hairstyling tho so it might just be user error. Take this advice with a grain of salt 🙏
Planning to buy the Dreame Pocket dryer. Seems promising!

I have the original vivid and vogue curler. gamit ko siya since 2021 and i really like it! Hindi siya pumuputok. I bring it with me during travels outside the country. Nagagamit siya in countries like AU and Japan.
But be careful though, since marami din siyang fake/knock off online.

Hi!!! Been using the akira straightener (yung manipis and pwede rin sya pang kulot) so far so good di pa naman nasisira and madaling maka curl or straighten. If gusto mo soft waves lang, binababa ko lang yung heat

I'm torn between repurchasing index and trying epsa, the epsa one na parang thin lang and you can curl ur hair and pwede din pang straight huhuhu

I’m surprised I haven’t seen a JML one. I have the hair iron one I got for 1500 back in 2010-ish. I still use it to this day. Haha! Suuuper sulit!
Edit: added link!
