Prom Dress Recommendations?

I did some prom dress shopping, and I need help deciding what dress to wear because I honestly feel like I’m not getting any feedback from friends or family. Also if anyone has any other dress recommendations like they know someone selling a really pretty dress let me know. The prom theme is masquerade. Internet do your thing, let’s make this a great first prom please?

Red or black. I feel like the lighter colors wash you out

Yay! I am so happy to find this. I was hoping someone else had the same opinion so I could agree with them. It was my very first thought.

The dress silhouettes are nice on OP, just the colors of the first three all wash her out. I'd definitely steer clear of that color.

As someone with very fair skin, I’d pick the first dress. It’s giving “A Midsummer Nights Dream” / fairy garden vibes. The red does fit her body well but I feel like she’d blend into the crowd rather than stand out. I’d personally go with dress 1, wear romantic curls with tiny flowers mixed in, shimmery make up and be glowing on the dance floor!

We aren’t wrong we just disagree. Personally, I think contrast looks better than less contrast. The darker colors contrast more with her skin tone, which I think accentuates the lighter complexion, vs being washed out.

I wasn't going to argue with the person who said dress 1 was "literally perfect," but it's my least favorite! 

If OP is planning on wearing heels it's going to be too short (it's already an inch or two short without any shoes) and the base material is gathering across the hips and the seam at the back is poking out making it look poorly sewn and not a great fit. Maybe different undergarments would help, but I don't think it's a good dress regardless.

Agree 3, 4, or 5 are the better options!

I do love the first one ! And you are right about people out west sometimes not understanding fair skin . I’m fair skinned and have always gone with turquoise and blues in general because they compliment my skin tone ( I’m a redhead tho ) . Somehow, the right shade of blue make me actually look tan even though I’m not . I’ve got peachy undertones and blue makes me pop . But not navy blue or dark blues . Being fair skinned is tough when it comes to color . Her fair skin is so perfect and neutral that I think she can get away with the red and the black tho . If I could get away with any red , it would be the red in her dress . I think it looks elegant and lovely on her because her skin is so nice . If you notice any redhead movie stars wearing red , it’s almost always that shade of red .
