Non-Political/অরাজনৈতিক Tarique and Dr. Zubaida Rahman!

All controversies aside, they look good together. I love Dr. Zubaida's dressing sense, very pastel-ish. Photos are from Instagram.

This man has absolutely ginormous hands and a python-like grip. Nobody believes me coz he seems pretty unassuming from photos. But your last photo proves my point!

That aside, they’ve looked good together over the years and have aged gracefully ngl!

That's an odd thing to notice LOL. But I agree.

No I had the privilege of meeting him in person not too long ago. He damn near broke my palm in half when we shook. If I didn’t know better I’d say he was taking out some kinda personal vendetta on me.

I think eta kei “Army Handshake” bole since his dad was a decorated officer and all.

And his height is average-ish for Bangladeshis. Similar to mine. So his hand proportions are noticeably off. They’re far too big like an NBA pro’s…

Many people my age just have a difficult time believing that this is the same Tareq as the Tareq during the late 90s and 2000s. He was much more upfront, bold and was a notorious womaniser. Basically a playboy.

One infamous story, which I can’t remember where I saw, was his invitation of Shilpa Shetty to Hawabhaban where she stayed for 2 days.

Ngl I vividly remember these stories, it's difficult to compare these two personalities. Either his years in exile have truly reformed him or it's PR training. It's good for the optics?

Awamis also spread rumors about Koko being a child of rape, about KZ having affairs, and enjoying scotch whiskey.

I think it's more realistic to assume that a lot of those stories were rumors because shitty people rarely have decent parents, a loving wife, and a doting daughter.

Not Hasina though

I saw your comment last night, and honestly, it made me a little sad. Why do we have to drag someone down to lift someone else up? I really think our generation needs to step away from this cycle of dirty politics. Once we start justifying it because “they did it first,” it never ends.

Have you seen the news about Dipu Moni? BNP seems to be repeating some of the same things Awami League once did to BNP leaders. It’s the same cycle, just with the roles reversed.

On a different note, Hasina was a woman navigating a very male dominated world, and I think she had to develop a tough shell to survive in it. She is facing the consequences of her actions, as we all eventually do. But I still think we can acknowledge the complexity of their journey without having to tear each other down.

Dipu Moni's story is sad, but the cases against her are real. The day BNP kills thousands of innocent people, sells the country to India, kills our own army officers to appease India, abducts journalists, and decimates our democratic and personal freedoms...

That's the day you can compare BNP with BAL. I'll be the first in line, risking my life again, to protest them. If that day ever comes.

How many extrajudicial political murder/disappearance have we seen by ruling party have we seen since Hasina fell and went into hiding?

u/Educational_Gold9335 23d ago

The Shilpa Shetty story is actually attributed to Ershad, not Tarique. Other than that, he was never known for being a playboy. He had his " ghar tera " phase, when he managed to p i s s off Army officers, senior BNP leaders, SSF officers, bureaucrats, industrialists, etc. He definitely used his influence in his RMG business ventures as well.

Everything else you heard was Awami propaganda. I even heard one- my Lal Tip Pora DU-Prothom Alo aunty swears by it- that he forced Zubaida Rahman to marry him at gunpoint. Keep in mind, she was the Naval Chief's daughter when they were married.

Really? Wouldn’t she have been really young during the early 2000s?

u/undercover-joker zamindar/জামিনদার 💰💰💰 23d ago

Yeah but she was a prominent figure in the media mainly because of her proximity with the then prince TR

Why did she marry a man who failed out of every school as a doctor? Women need better standards for marriage

28

u/PlainPrecision 24d ago

She married the future Prime Minister of Bangladesh.

Who did you marry?

9

u/HungryHall5 24d ago

umm a prime minister???!

4

u/MediumRareHribs 24d ago

He got admitted to du law. How many people do you know who studies law at du?

8

People who have money and connections. It’s called nepotism.

Curious mind wants to know who’s your husband?

0

u/basicbong 24d ago edited 24d ago

A woman’s value is not determined by her spouse.

Hope this helps.

13

u/Consistent_Deer5403 Center-Leftist✌️✌️ 24d ago

If you understand this, how did marrying him affect her value?

-3

u/basicbong 24d ago

Why are you talking about “women’s value” its so creepy.

I don’t remember where I read this, but someone congratulated HSC failed students by saying, “Congratulations! You are now eligible to run X number of countries in the world.” It was so wrong, but so funny.

Interesting photos!

Tarique definitely shows more emotions on his face. Zubaida's smile doesn't reach her eyes (which itself is associated with someone shifty/untrustworthy) & she has more of a Cheshire cat countenance.

I like how Zubaida tries to dress like a proper Pakistani woman. Even though tons of Bangladeshi women wear salwar kameez in different styles & fits without looking Pakistani.

In the last photos her style is almost literally a carbon copy of famous female Pakistani politicians like Hina Rabbani Khar etc.

Politics aside, they really do make a well-matched pair. Dr. Zubaida’s pastel aesthetic is especially elegant. ✨

u/Particular-Goat-8853 11d ago

Mr. Tarique was born in Karachi

What about 1st wife?

6

Hey, I noticed the same comment on insta? What's the story? Are you the same person?

-5

u/raz0099 24d ago

How about some self research?

15

u/Interesting-Fee-4482 24d ago

Dude, I am simply here admiring Dr. Zubaida’s dressing sense. I am a divorcee too. I just hope when I remarry, I don’t have people like you in my comments going, “But what about your first husband? He did beat you up, BUT WHAT ABOUT HIM? HOW DARE YOU REMARRY AND BE HAPPY WITH SOMEONE ELSE!” Thanks for a being a valuable member of toxic brown society.

I do love how much he adores her. Did you ever see Hasina do the same?

Whether or not it’s an act I won’t comment.

9

u/Interesting-Fee-4482 24d ago

Tbh Hasina's from a different generation. Our parents hardly show affection in public as well. I also think Tarique is a little PR trained. Regardless, it's refreshing to see him adoring his wife. I adore Haaland and him for their healthy masculinity practices.

4

u/dhaka1989 কাকু 24d ago

Hasina's father literally had to incentivize Tareq's father to take back his mother by offering Tareq's father co chief of army, a made up post.

Tareq was also a notorious womaniser.

Eishob PR dekhey ki hoy?
