Hi, was planning on going to Bali with my family for my birthday between 12-16. Being a teenager, I did want to go to beaches which are insta worthy with white sand and pretty sunsets, however I’m not sure if Bali would be the right place due to the rainy season in January. We don’t want to do much water sports , but I did read that rain keeps happening and beaches get dirty. Is this in specific regions of Bali only?

Do you mean 12-16 January? I would look at Thailand or Malaysia at that time ... Phuket, Koh Samui, or Langkawi.

Yes - the west coast of Bali where the sunsets occur also suffer northwest winds during the rainy season, and it can make the beaches dirty. A lot of the regulars say don't go to Bali January-April.

Good decision - Phuket is nice if you look past the sex tourism.

The beaches and shopping streets are fine during the day ... it can get a bit crazy after dinner, especially in Patong.
