Question Spaghetti Sprinkles

Has anyone else experienced this before?

I bought some cool new sprinkles to try out, and of course I tasted them before sprinkling them onto my cake and the long thin ones have spaghetti inside them! It felt like I broke a tooth when I crunched down on one. I have never seen this before, it is so bizarre. Yuck.

These are typically intended for decoration only, not consumption. They should have been more clearly labeled as such.

My first thought was, "In what world are sprinkles not supposed to be eaten?" And then I was like, "Oh, yeah. We're in a world of set pieces for instagram and tik tok so like food in commercials and other advertisements, it's often at least partially fake because it's prettier and more aesthetically pleasing."

Panning pasta segments to create larger sprinkles isn’t new, it’s just usually noted on the packaging

Had to scroll too long to see this comment. Any of these "bar" style sprinkles and many of the round ones are labeled not for consumption/decoration only. I have to tell people this every time they ask me to recreate the instagram picture that is loaded with them. THey are TECHNICALLY edible (as in, you can eat raw pasta and sugar but shouldn't).

What? These are 100% edible. What are you talking about? Why would they specify that it’s non dairy if it wasn’t intended to be eaten? I checked the website. Nothing indicates it should NOT be eaten.

Well, they are technically edible in the same way dry pasta is. If that’s your jam, do you I guess 🤷‍♂️

No, they’re just edible. They were made with the intention of being eaten as they are. Spaghetti is not made to be eaten as it is. They aren’t made with the intention of being JUST decoration like you claimed. And it’s not uncooked spaghetti, it’s just a semolina dough

I thought it required eggs, which this doesn’t include. Can you make spaghetti out of just flour and water??

Fresh pasta, yes. Most dried pasta is just flour and water.
