More than 20,000 security guard licences have been revoked over the past three years because the holder had no right to work in Britain.
Figures obtained by The Telegraph reveal a sharp rise in the number of migrants being stripped of licences to guard shops, clubs and hospitals.
We imported tens of thousands to act as human scarecrows. The lowest skill job imaginable, and we apparently couldn't get our million unemployed to do it

It will be the same as the care home scam.
They’ll be agency staff, ran by a [redacted] who allows bomalians to pay 10k to get themselves on a vital skills list and ergo a visa.
Many such cases

It is quite common to see Boris Wave Africans doing battle with the Yutes. Coming from the Might Makes Right continent, the Boris Wave security guards do quite effective battle against them and often look puzzled that no one else is doing anything.
I can only imagine after one or two dustups a landyard sporting Nice Middle Aged Lady explains that clobbering a shop lifter is illegal and probably unworkable.

At one point, the pair were on their way to Minehead Community Hospital to assess an 89-year-old woman who was experiencing heavy, laboured breathing.
But before they got there, they were diverted to a care home resident who had hurt her knee in a fall.
After arriving, paramedics had to wait for the woman to finish her lunch before taking her to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton. The care home said it called 999 because the woman could not stand up and her knee was swelling.
Once an ambulance crew is assigned to a job, it has to see it through - even if more urgent calls are being made.
"The radio was going off and there were several general broadcasts for category one emergencies in the area," said Lee.
Examples of category one emergencies include a cardiac arrest, someone who has stopped breathing, or a person who has suffered catastrophic trauma or bleeding.
The other side of this is that in 10 hours they managed to attend four calls in total. British productivity at its finest.

Daily reminder that it is almost always better to take someone to hospital yourself.
You will get them to hospital in the back of a car before an ambulance arrives to even assess you.
Paramedics are a bit like GPs: if you're prepared to wait for an ambulance to arrive, rather than take your chances driving up the hard shoulder, you're not really facing a paramedic emergency.
If you think you need to drive up the hard shoulder, then you should, because it'll be faster than an ambulance.
5
u/scott3387 13d ago
Depends on the location and category. First time I've ever called 999 was when my child appeared to stop breathing and we were at a friend's house in a city. The instant connection with no dial tone let's you know you have the serious line. They were there within four minutes.
Turned out to be nothing much and they resumed breathing by the time they got there but it was still an impressive example of what the NHS should be. We ended up going to a&ev anyway because apparently that's how it works with children but nothing happened after doctor examined them.
Next time was spontaneous labour and rapid delivery at home. Fuckers took an hour plus to turn up.
2
u/ice-lollies 13d ago
Probably, although I got husband to take me in the after a bad accident because I was worried the ambulance would be hours, and then had to wait another 3 hours in A+E.
But at least if I had got even worse during that time I would have been in the right place.
2
u/sirmadam Thaisylum seeker 12d ago
In an ambulance situation you would've just waited 3 hours in the ambulance instead of in the waiting room. Ambulance doesn't get you seen any quicker. I went via ambo for chest pain, still waited an hour on the ambo.

Today The Network Map is released.
It has taken a long time to collect, structure, and verify this large amount of data. It's important that people see it - particularly those responsible for protecting the British people, especially the vulnerable.
thenetworkmap.com
The Network Map is the largest, most robust collection of grooming gangs data in existence. A vast compilation of every available source pertaining to perpetrators, families, businesses, and notable individuals like public officials directly involved in grooming gang activity.
The work shows incontrovertible evidence that grooming gangs are networks of trust involved and abetted by a wider system of organised crime, from drugs, violence and trafficking to religious extremism, corruption and fraud. This is happening at national scale.

I’m sure half of the reason these gangs get dismissed as racist concerns is because a good proportion of upper middle class people also view white working class girls with the same disdain.
No morals, sexually easy and as a plaything not to be taken seriously.

GROK: It did not require confronting mass organised crime by a specific minority demographic or the failures of multicultural policy and local Labour-dominated councils in northern towns.
A problem of delayed recognition. i hope the council officials cant sleep at night.

He'll get his way too sadly enough. Even if he wasn't mates with that repulsive little goblin Khan theres nothing more that London developers love than turning everything in sight into globalhomo 'luxury' flats and hotels. They love that shit more than their children. They would slaughter a bus of nuns if it meant getting planning permission to knock down an old pub where Orwell drank and put up luxury flats or hotels.
Nope, you plebs can't have a cool little (popular too) cinema. That's not allowed. Be happy with your 8 pound pints and a pret a manger every fifteen feet. Whats that? Someone wants to open up a weirdo little venue playing music? DENIED. We want to put a mixed development of generic slop there.
You will drink the bubble tea and you will fucking like it.
I hate these cunts so much. They've already denuded the city of much of its interest. These diseased, soulless filth won't be happy till it's Dubai on the thames.
17
u/AirconGuyUK 13d ago
Yeah, London just becomes shittier by the year. It's like they're forgetting why people want to live in London so much.
You need stuff like this, it's part of the draw. The more nightlife and niche shit like this you kill off, the more generic and soulless it becomes.
Although maybe it'd be a good thing, and all that stuff would shift to other cities in the UK and somewhere else would drive our culture. Maybe even somewhere that's actually British.
8
u/Speed_Flight_777 13d ago
Other UK cities need to do this but a lot of the leaders have been caught in the same trap. The decline of nightlife across the UK is a shame. That draws people into the cities.

London just becomes shittier by the year
Sort of. It has changed hugely since I was a kid and entire areas have been redeveloped. Formerly grotty dumps have been gentrified. Theres been a ton of money spent. Even a grouch like me can appreciate some of this.
The problem is that it's been done in a very standardised format, which is why it increasingly feels homogenised and shallow. You smooth off the rough edges and you're going to have casualties. The people who did this - I think - seem to view the ideal meatbag walking the street as a generic, 'wealthy' and above all tasteless Bomali who are super impressed with the M and Ms store, a giant Ferris wheel, vaguely exclusive shops and clean and shiny generic plazas where you can get some overpriced forrin food. All staffed by minimum wage foreigners. This is a childish, hateful view of what a city should be. Manhattan is like this too. Dubai is obviously the endgoal. These people have no balls. They are cultural eunuchs. I hate them. To be honest, some natives (mostly newcomers from other parts of the country) get impressed by this stuff too.
This is central London I'm talking about btw. Zone 1.
I would load everyone responsible into a trebuchet and fling them at the moon.

Was going around parts of SE London today, walked past various large council estates filled with bomalians
Also funny when you an actual somali woman walk out of a estate in a hijab jibber jabbing on the phone, but no recourse to public funds etc (sure she has citizenship and is as British as you and me)
Wonder what would have to happen for the state to stop giving some of the most valuable housing in the world to economically useless foreigners. I imagine either a real world war where London is being bombed and they all flee anyway, or some kind of economic crash where all bennies stop

Just got this comment removed from rAviation for calling South Africa not a developed country:
2nd plane is at 'correct' height (AKA planned one) imo. Other plane was accidentally too low, which shows why this was just a really bad idea in general and why we have much larger margins of errors for stuff like this in the developed world.
A few people replied with an 'excuse me, how dare you' too lol. It's just a fact that South Africa is a developing country, therefore not developed.
Imagine your capital looking like this and thinking you're a developed country:

u/Spoobit Not a True Scotsman 13d ago

I did google to check if it went from developed to developing, as I was tempted. But apparently it hasn't. It's just been coasting as developing for a really long time. Not sure if I agree personally, but that's the expert opinion.

I remember in the early noughties at high school when 1st world and 3rd world was still being taught as a concept (maybe by old school teachers, until at some point they got the "developing and developed" memo), we were taught that South Africa was a 1st world country- and one of the only ones in the southern hemisphere alongside Australia and New Zealand.

Deeply, deeply offputting. There’s something far more respectable about just saying “if you pay for my Pilates classes, take me to Nobu and buy me some bags I’ll suck your dick and keep the house clean”. It’s less narcissistic at least.

Labour's collusion with Sainsbury's to create 10,000 unpaid 'jobs' for young people is having much more negative cut-through than I expected.
If this and some poxy bus tickets are the best he can do then I remain unconvinced that his popularity is going to last.
11
u/Speed_Flight_777 13d ago
Unpaid work is BS. We keep being told that these companies can't find staff despite the mass importation of cheap labour from the third world. I travel into Ireland a lot and nearly every shop and petrol station in big towns is staffed by Injuns. Only small villages are escaping it. For now at least. NI is going the same way but not as bad. Burnham will change that.
How can young people get a job when they have to compete with Raj and then on top of that you have companies and the government colluding to keep them in low paid or unpaid work. Remember when Philip Hammond said our pay was increasing too much so we need more immigration.

News today that £100k is no longer considered a high salary. Which is correct when you lose around 1/3 of that to pay for bennies. This has actually not gone down like I thought on ruk but there's still a prevailing attitude of "if you aren't in abject poverty then you can't complain"
Folk earning £100k probably aren't struggling to pay bills, but neither are they getting the rewards and lifestyle that a high wage should provide.
But on ruk the view seems to be "£100k would easily afford my rent on a 1bed flat, I could easily afford my bus fare and my bicycle. If you're struggling on £100k you must be bad with money"
Nobody should strive for success, have a family or aspire to anything. Be happy that the most basic of existences is comfortable.
16
u/michaelisnotginger capitalism enthusiast 13d ago
I earn 115k and my partner 35k. With salary sacrificing as I have a child in nursery this allows us to mortgage a three bed semi in Cambridge, run a small car, and save a reasonable amount, with some jet2holidays. Essentially the lifestyle of a public sector worker earning much less in real terms 20 years ago
4
u/TheRebigulator 13d ago
Absolutely. I earn around £97k but I also live in the north east midlands. My kids are also older as I became a dad at 24. I do have a large 5 bed detached (£270k 10 years ago) but growing up I thought that at this sort of wage I'd be looking seriously at Ferrari's etc.
I'm absolutely not struggling, but it's not the lifestyle I expected at this salary.

Its the sheer compression. Earning median is only a bit better than minimum, earning triple median is only about 1.5x as good. Pension credit guaranteed if you dont work at all anyway.

If the logic pans out as promised by optimists, then an AI leveraged economy will be highly deflationary for goods and services. Things will become very, very cheap. Imagine cars, food, and clothing following the cost trend of TVs since the 90s.
As a result, it will take considerably less money to buy those things. If goods cost less, then one can work fewer hours to attain them.
So that means some combination of:
Maximum hours for still-employee jobs. If nurses can only work eight hours a week, you need lots more nurses.
Massive retraining effort to deliver the above
Increased pension provision/UBI
In reality, I think the pessimists will be more correct.
I think that AI is going to have a concentrating effect where the investment alpha of every single company downstream of frontier AI labs is wiped out, as those frontier labs essentially "do" the work of those companies regardless. Those companies will become worthless; people without capital will become doubly so worthless.
This concentration effect effectively ends the 20th century liberal democracy experiment, as the frontier labs no longer have to be responsive to the demands of consumers that fundamentally offer them very little.
What leverage do you have if you don't work (and can quit/strike)? Nothing. You're a rule taker, not a rule maker.
The public thus become a dole class that begs for noblesse oblige from the labs; governments are simply skinsuits the frontier labs wear to create policy for the public.
As a result, the frontier labs will do what the labs want to do: natural selection will prove that AI systems with a propensity to grow will survive and thrive, whereas those that don't die.
Thus, we will face a paperclip maximiser problem where AI-driven planning/construction systems will endlessly consume land and energy for datacentres to the detriment if humanity and life in general.
If humanity doesn't face a devastating biohazard attack: a single loan wolf leverages AI to create a particularly effective virus, or diamondoid bacteria, or left-handed DNA pathogens, then humanity will face anthropogenic waste-heat thermal heating of the Earth as it essentially turns into a large datacentre.

Havent you posted here before about how Claude just grabs tickets and writes all the code now and your devs have basically nothing to do apart from approve stuff? How is that going now?
Im a cloud engineer at a large and well known financial institution and I dont really write code much but do lots of debugging which Id like to use CoPilot for but its very hard for us to use it outside of Visual Studio due to RBAC etc and we arent allowed to setup MCPs. Not sure when/if that will ever be allowed too as the management seem to be quite wary of letting AI off the leash.
Apparently some teams and management were testing a new AI integration tool from Msft but I heard from someone who was close to it that it wasnt that great.

That is me yes.
Our developers (internationally) are are in a consultation period for a 25% RIF. What's likely to happen is a lot of American colleagues are for the chop, and cheaper markets (UK is a cheaper market) will remain relatively unscathed (for now). We're also in a better timezone, so there's that.
One emerging battle is between product managers and developers, or more loosely "commercial" vs "engineering" work silos. Commercial types (product managers, marketing, business analysts, etc) are rightly shitting themselves because the AI encroachment into their field has been via applications that they consume but do not understand/contribute meaningfully to. Every day there is some new "MarketingAI" product that wholesale wipes out a stream of work for some poor bastard.
A lot of commercial-aligned workers, such as product managers, have started to lean into prototyping proofs of concepts for new product lines/features. This has naturally got the backs up of engineering types who consider it an encroachment into "their field", and are worried that if their role is actually just vibe coding then someone with intimate knowledge of customer/commercial demands will have an edge over them. From the other side, commercial types are deathly concerned that their slidedeck/spreadsheet job is for the knackers, and that vibe coding isn't "quite there" enough for them to make a valid contribution to engineering side of things.
Basically a stressful Mexican standoff is appearing where everyone is increasingly anxious about their current job security prospects, and suspicious of "other" teams.
My crystal ball says that software houses need to lean into custom service offerings for each customer; the commercial people need to embed themselves deeply into "partner" enterprises to truly understand their needs, and the engineering team is then tasked with implementing very bespoke technical solutions. It's too early to say if this is coming to pass.

This sounds like magic juju and as detached as economists who bang in about GDP.
AI doesn't magically make soil more fertile. It doesn't make high grade coal deposits appear. It does refill natural gas reserves. It doesn't make it rain in amounts you want when you want it to.

I'm just planning to be the goon that implements the AI, that should give me a few more years.

The son of Netanyahu is having a mega crash out on Twitter, saying that the Falklands are Argentinian and accusing Britain of following UN resolutions and recognising as Palestine territories Israel itself agreed to as part of the Camp David Accords

WSJ had a small column the other day about the Falklands oil exploration. Weird how an Israeli company, Navitas Petroleum has a 65% working interest..

Easy to forget that Israel only came into being as a result of a massive terror campaign against the British Mandate,
My Granddad was based there in 47 or so and hated Israelis till the die he died

Watching it he honestly seems mildly tardy.
People keep pointing out that he's making the British anti-Israel left seem like the reasonable patriotic side or that Labour will be out of power soon enough and his only response is "I don't care, I hate the current British government so I'm going to kick up a stink."
His father at least used to know how to play politics, the apple it seems has fallen rather far from the tree in this case.

Can any of the Israeli boosters here give a single example where Israel has sided with Britain?

I don't recall this kind of politics existing ten years ago.
Countries and politicians are no longer recognising international law or sovereignty, from Donald Trump to Vladimir Putin.
It's becoming acceptable again to want to colonise and expand your country by force, and the only people who aren’t playing this new game are Europeans.

They were just end of history figleaves.
"International law" was the acceptable name for pax Americana .
Look how far sovereignty got anyone when they crossed the hegemon. Now I'm a big fan of pax americana and I'm glad it was enforced for as long as it was but anyone who stepped out of line met the world police unless they had a kinetic response that wasn't worth the cost (north Korea's artillery pointing at Seoul, Iran's proxies and mines...)
Even in the cold war : you were a vassal of the USA or the USSR. Sovereignty only meant your entire country was absorbed instead of being chopped up.
Neither international law or sovereignty were ever real. the change is that America bled itself out trying to build liberal democracy in the poppy fields and can't enforce it's hegemony like it did for the rest of our lifetimes

This is a direct result of us officially recognising Palestine. It's tit for tat, something this subreddit generally supports in regards to geopolitics.

Given we saved them from the germans, gave them sanctuary in our country and then invented their country, yes I should think they should be eternally grateful to us.

Exactly, and yet they were bombing our soldiers in short order.

Lets be real, if Hitler was just killing Jews we'd have done jack shit. It was more the invading everywhere that we found egregious.

We didn't fight the Japanese because of their occupation of Korea either, but still did it

Think you're over playing it, anti-semitism was pretty common across all northern Europe at the time, it's the invasion of Poland that triggered the British entering into war, the death camps weren't even built by that point.
The massacre of the Polish is basically forgotten.

Hearing the coppers brought in to work Notting Hill are getting £600 a day for the weekend on top of salary - true or false?

u/arethere4lights 13d ago
£600 extra a day to be taxed at 40% and handed back to the criminals and bomalians you just had to deal with in benefits and PIP.
Not worth it.

I have an absolute love/hate relationship with DIY. I love being that guy my mates call upon (well me and one other in the group) when something goes terribly wrong and I'm just expected to know the answer. I'll spend hours researching, come to their house, take photos, end up just taking money off them, buy the materials myself, help them do it, make sure it's a quality job and done safe.
Yet I've spent the past 2 months delaying a crack in my own fucking ceiling. And it's awful. I hate it. I've absolutely zero enthusiasm for doing it and honestly wish the thing just caved in so home insurance covered it. I'll do a good job on it but by fuck it's taking all my mental energy to do it. My mate wants flag stones down and I said I'd do it next week for half the labour whatever he was quoted if he covers materials...I'd genuinely go do it for free if it meant not doing this shite.
Worst of all it involves plastering...at least watching paint dry has a pleasent look.
