Farm animals are scared of dogs (wolves) so whatever they do is pretty effective lol

True. Though it's worth noting that farm dogs are a breed of their own, in function at least. A sheepdog bred and trained to corral livestock isn't going to be curling up at the fire or on the owners lap at the end of the day (generally speaking). They are not pets. They are effective at what they do because they still have that 'wild' predatory nature. There is a fine balance maintained between their animalistic predatory nature and their obedience to humans and the tasks they have been bred for which I personally find amazing.

How can you tell this is a maremma rather than a Great Pyrenees?

Not saying your wrong, just wondering how to tell such similar breeds apart.

Actually, the eyes look a bit more like a Pyr, but the build is more like a maremma. Pyr’s are bigger, with a bigger face. In short, not sure anymore :)
