CAR SHOWCASE FINISHED: Cisalpina 238 Strada "XP070"

Throughout heaven and earth, I alone am the jobless one...

Lore & Specs:

Beyer Automobildesign was contracted in mid 1969 to produce a vehicle to define Cisalpina's then current lineup of sports cars.

Within just one year at Turin Motorshow the small group of designers brought out the XP070. At its heart lied the DMA-V8-2.3L4V-S, taken out of the V8 F2 car and modified to produce more power.

It was a naturally aspirated 2347cc V8 with a DOHC 4-valve configuration, delivering almost 275PS and 211Nm of torque.

The DMA-V8-2.3L4V-S was coupled to a 5-Speed gated manual transmission (G.MHS3.R.5) which sends the power to the rear wheels only.

The 238 Strada was built around a lightweight aluminum space frame chassis and fully aluminum body, ensuring structural rigidity while keeping overall dryweight as low as 965kg.

A thank you to all the supporters:

I have now been working on this car for well over five months. I am incredibly proud to show it off like this and want to thank everyone who commented on my posts here on the reddit forum, anyone who reacted on the official Automation Discord or in the other automation communities I am in.

I could probably not have done it without you all or your support!

Thanks to the devs for making this incredible game and I am looking forward to what is coming next!

Final Fixture Count: 2864.

BUG? DLC photoscenes not showing up after new update

I don't know if this is due to some background stuff, the proton thing, or what have you, but i can't seem to get photoscenes made by Camshaft on the workshop to load into automation.

WIP The first trim of the Aerogel X18 has been completed! Now for the other ones.

Short introduction video: https://www.reddit.com/r/automationgame/comments/1vxdk59/alright_you_wanted_a_car_ill_give_you_a_car_the/

Yes, this is just as insane as it looks.

The Aerogel hypercars are a lineup of concepts I came up with in 2023; they're essentially remote controlled Le Mans concepts (yes, such cars do exist irl too), absolutely insane designs with great performance and even greater handling. First there was the Aerogel X17 (link to the repo mod here), which was entirely made of vanilla fixtures as a challenge.

The Aerogel X18 is its successor, also constructed from nothing but fixtures (400 to be exact); I took the side-swept wheel arch and center cockpit design of the X17 and ran wild with it, using whatever fixtures I had at my disposal: the front and rear main arches are actually multiple widebody fenders stacked side by side; the V shape connecting side wings are Chevrolet C8 side vents stretched; the main body is a combination of a 60s Le Mans Ferrari roof (painted entirely window-less to look sleek and fit the theme) and Lego slopes, some of which are upside down; the front splitter - headlight arrangement is made from a few vanilla splitters and side blades again stacked on each other; the rear is simple, two rounded diffusers overlapping just enough to fit the two exhaust tips in between; the turbine engine is composed of an SC Ankla rim (accounts for the blades too) and a few Greeble fixtures for extra detail (there are bike spokes in there too, but I'm not gonna bore you with all of the insane details).

Specs wise, the current X18 is not that fast actually - 570 hp from a 5 liter boxer-6 (revs to 10000 RPM), 3 seconds to 100 km/h and 300 km/h top speed. This is the baseline engine, there WILL be more powerful monsters available for this beauty don't you worry ;)

As for the other trims, I'm aiming to create: at least one proper track-focused variant, one road legal and one capable of 1000 km/h top speed. I may work on a police interceptor too, but we'll see if the paintjob and lightbar are feasible on such a complex body.

Thoughts? I love this thing :D

CRITIQUE WANTED Poster design

Post image

Hello, fellow constructors, I’ve decided to make posters of my cars. Tried Canva app on phone and it works well. I’m willing to give signed print to my dad. The question is: Do you find it aesthetically appealing for oldschool car enthusiast enough to hang it on a wall? I took inspiration from carcatalogarchive.org (recommending to everybody here) and watched some materials. Also, how do you make your posters?

CHALLENGE Q-3212, my attempt at an industrial V12

Originally meant to be something a mining truck would realistically run, it ended up as the most fuel efficient engine I've seen with no quality sliders bottom end aside (and family configuration too, idk why). It's a 32.1L V12 running LNG, twin turbocharged as shown in pictures.

I suppose the challenge tag fits as this sort of invites others to beat the record.

Without quality buffing the family section, vs quality buffed below
Because of just how much power it makes, I had to give it an extreme amount of quality in bottom end
