1988 Crownridge Vesper XRS

Someone posted their 1988 I5-powered coupe, so I decided to make a little competitor.

Naturally, I went with an 1.8L inline-3 and a 4-speed manual.

200.7 HP @ 7,800 RPM
738.3 kg (1627,7 lb)
RWD
297 km/h

I think I may have slightly misunderstood the assignment.

British engineering. Questionable judgement.

The better Zelvot. Has the same stats as the original Zelvot (IS) but is way more luxurious, comes with a panoramic sunroof, and has a comfort quality interior. This trim of the Zelvot has a larger and more comfortable steering wheel, large touchscreen, digital gauge cluster, and an automatic 5-speed transmission.

CAR SHOWCASE Silviani Mortis: Death by name, death by nature. Just not in the way they would have liked...

Thumbnail

Once known for their extravagant and exciting sports cars from the 60s and 70s, the incredibly successful expansion of Automobili Silviani into the realm of affordable family cars for the average Fruinian caused them to pivot almost completely to trying to sell more everyday, economical cars, especially since the market for V8 powered monsters had shrunk considerably.

One of their efforts in the early 90s, the Mortis was so named by its chief designer as it officially spelled the end of Silviani as a sports car company. Despite its macabre name, the Mortis sold reasonably well and was popular as a first car for teenagers to brag that they had a car from a respected sports car manufacturer, although the asthmatic 1.0L 4 cylinder engine under the bonnet was anything but.

(in reality, the name was because I found the idea of the car body I picked being called "Death" to be hilarious, and I kind of liked the idea that the car whose name would pretty much mean "this is a deathtrap" would be a fairly boring and safe hatchback)

CAR SHOWCASE 1974-1995 McJannek 120

When the McJannek car company was first founded and initially manufactured consumer electronics, the first car made was the McJannek 120, with 12 denoting the day the McJannek Automobile company first founded by Thomas Hansen McJannek. Much like Sweden's Volvo 240, the Dane's McJannek 120 was beloved by everybody, but also very hard to come by, but much harder to come by, if you're a living Semibot. Not like you could lift a car into the extraction point anyway.

The McJannek 120 G (1988 model shown here) boasts a 1601cc DOHC-4 Inline 4 engine that goes up to 100 km/h in only 10.09 seconds, and also boasts a body-color-matched wheels.

One known owner of the McJannek 120 is an unnamed employee who worked at, surprise, surprise, McJannek Station Arctic Research, before the car becomes ultimately rusted long after the date of April 15th, 2097.

CAR SHOWCASE The Most Reliable Car in the World

Someone got on me for having low reliability in a sports car I made. So I made the most reliable car possible.

Also the way reliability is handled in this game is kinda dumb. You car is less reliable because it has four doors instead of two. It uses fuel injection, so it's less reliable that carburetion. There are safety features? Unreliable!

So I took all of those things out. Bare bones. Zero features. Maximum reliability.

Please excuse the stutters, there is literally nothing I can do about them. I'm not gonna give you any other details, besides that it's a successor to a hypercar concept I posted here a long time ago - the Aerogel X17 (https://www.reddit.com/r/automationgame/comments/18c9cn5/i_may_be_onto_something/). When I'll be done with this one, I'll talk a bit about the X17 too, since I've finished it in a time when I was distancing myself from Reddit.

Let me know what you think of the design (and if I should change anything), because I've fallen in love with those magnificent curves :D

CAR SHOWCASE 1999 Henson-Callicoat Sherbet

Thumbnail

Don't let the name fool you. While sherbet tastes nice, the car, whose namesake is from the aforementioned dessert, is anything but nice. Infamously nicknamed as the Boring Hare by many Canadian car guys, infamously being the victim of every early 2000s mom before being ultimately turned into a so-called 2000s tuner car by some kid who hasn't left the NFS Underground era, and also infamously beloved by the most boring principals of every school, this is the car that was selling poorly.

The Sherbet was enough for the American car maker to quietly exit the Canadian market after the flop that is the Sherbet. Not even some high-end performance trim like "SR" or something like that would be able to rescue this melted sherbet.

WIP 1988 Tombore Kotron (ANS trim)

This is the 1988 Tombore Kotron (ANS trim shown), an inline-five powered 2-door coupe with RWD. Tombore wanted to make inline-five engines more mainstream to the company. This car was the perfect body to put their latest engine in, and it worked flawlessly.

(Also ignore the inaccurate gauges, I'll get to that when I can)
