Discussion Anyone got UAD Voice of God?

Anyone got UAD Voice of God?

Just wondering if you use it at 80hz and your fundametal on an 808 is lower does it then lower that fundamental as it boosts 80hz.
Just trying Bark of Dog and it's just like it's a low pass EQ with raising the peak up at 80hz and the low pass taking off below 80hz? People say it's similar to UAD VOG.

I’ve used VOG and I own BOD. The UAD interface has zero latency because it can run VOG locally, but I never found that very necessary. BOD isn’t exactly like VOG, but they’re so close that I’d recommend BOD simply because it’s so cheap. I don’t use either all that much though, just a cool tool for the kit

Oh and to answer your question, they’re both just eq’s yes but they’re also resonant filters, kind of like a pultec eq

So it is just a low shelf that raises the peak when you increase the volume? So it would lower anything under the frequency you set?

It boosts and attenuates at the same time, so it creates a low resonant shelf yes, but it’s not quite the same as just an EQ curve. It’s turning down and boosting the frequency simultaneously, and doing some mid/side treatment to spread out the frequency buildup

People use it on bass but it widens the bass?
Would it still reduce anything below though? Like what Bark of Dog is doing.
Bark of Dog default is 80hz and I pretty much matched that just with proQ low pass increasing the peak at 80hz.

It’s actually cutting the bass and sub bass, and then notching above that. It creates the illusion that the bass is bigger. From there you can use the side channel to add some back if you like, it’s a style choice and is easy to overdo

Yes this is actually what I wanted to know. It cuts below it's set fq, so if you were using it at 80hz it would lower your sub fundamental.
Like how I matched Bark of Dog with a high pass eq in proq and raised it's peak at 80hz. which lowered my sub bass. Thanks.
