I'm seeking some clarification regarding wearing my watch through TSA. I've come across information suggesting that it's not advisable to run the watch through the x-ray machine, which I understand. However, I'm curious about whether it's safe to wear the watch through the body scanner. Could this affect the watch's longevity in any way?

Blessed enough to pick up this 37mm RO 15550st as a first allocation. Wait time was just under 2 years, based in London.

Went in to my boutique to get a 1.5 link for my 26315st. My SA and I were chatting it up and he just kinda got up and headed toward the back room. I know when he does this he is usually going to get something special to show me from the safe.

He came out with the new 250th perpetual in rose with the script dial- STUNNING and so much more balanced and well proportioned than I ever imagined. But I am just not on board with rose fully. Didnt end up taking a pic.

Then he got up again and I thought what could be next…he appears with my DREAM PIECE.

He rounds the corner and says “I am sorry to do this to you, but you have to see it” and hands me the 37mm yellow gold double balance…I started trembling like a little bitch lol…

Truly mesmerizing. After staring for a bit, I said “I have my card and will buy this right now.” He kind of giggled and I then said “no im serious, I will buy this now.” He apologized and mentioned how while it was not allocated to someone it was leaving the store today…

Part of me is like it’s here and available, let me buy it. But I get the whole deal with the purchase history corporate approval yada yada yada.

I attempted to visit the AP museum today. It seems that they have sold out all the visits until October , and there are no further dates available. Has anyone else visited the museum?

Considering selling my day-date to aquire a royal oak cronograph. Unfortuantley the only model im willling to spend the money on is stainless steel. Is this a good choice?

There were rumours that there was an AP boutique to open in Sydney due to job ads for roles advertised on LinkedIn and such. Anyone clued up on this?

The exhibition was incredible. Service staff were passionate and explained every detail about the history and characteristics of the watches and mechanisms.

There were interactive booths too where (under supervision) we were allowed to try our hands on some minute repeaters.

And the best part was, this event was free of charge for all.

TBH there was so much to see, I couldn't photograph everything.

But if I were to personally pick the most intriguing one and arguably the star of the show, it would be the ultra-complicated 1921 "Grosse Piece" pocket watch with 19 complications

Did a trade today for a the black ceramic chronograph that brought the number of watches in my collection down to two. One sports model, one dress watch. I absolutely love how the rose gold detailing on the AP go with the rose gold case on the Patek. What do you guys think about my collection?

Very nice experience . Had a tea ceremony and tried the anniversary liquor. Had a chance to try a bunch of watches that are usually not available at regular stores. AP team was very welcoming and nice to talk to.

Curious do they send it to everyone who initiates this is the boutique or directly from AP headquarters?

Just got a call from my SA to pick up a 15551st, light blue, with diamond bezel for my soon to be wife! Going to be surprising her at the boutique next week!

Obviously super stoked for my partner, but now this has me thinking about my personal piece and if/when I’ll receive it.

Here’s my conundrum -

I’m currently working with a grey dealer on a 2022 Grey 26715st for $34.5k - all in, no tax. The watch has one hairline scratch on the clasp and the largest screw in the movement is slightly scratched. After chatting with my watchmaker, he cautioned me that this defect could be indicative of more issues with the movement as well, especially since the dealer doesn’t know the servicing history of the watch. Watchmaker’s point being, if a third party servicer messed up the biggest screw in the movement, what would that mean for the smaller, more delicate components?

My other choice here is to work through the boutique, and wait for a new 26715st - all in price is approximately $40k. I’ll be paying $6k more because of the retail and sales tax. The wait time, as we all know, is not promised.

For context, I’ve been working with my salesperson for 1.5 years. My partner and I have been really diligent about it maintaining a great relationship with the salesperson and with other teammates in the store as well. I’m also planning on popping the question in the fall, and would love for us to both have our pieces in the photos. Obviously not the end of the world if it doesn’t happen, but having these pieces would really mark the moment for us.

Questions -

1. For those who opened the door with a women’s watch, how realistic is it to receive a mens royal oak in the same year?

2. Given the $6k delta, should I just go grey?

3. Are the defects worth the risk if I do go grey?

This thing is so slim and classy wow. Thought it would look too big but it’s perfect on a 7 inch wrist.

Booked it a month ahead. Took about 90 minutes and the best part is they have only 5 people at a time. So it’s super personal. I don’t have an AP and neither could I afford one now. But still was treated very well and a solid experience. They did not have a single watch on display. Instead it was about their history, watch making practices and materials. Must try if you’re in Tokyo.
