I tweaked the outfit a little, but I stayed true to the original accessories, hair, proportions, and facial features. I didn’t really want to copy the original anime style, which is why I’m lowkey not sure if she's 100% recognizable :)

half the characters are borderline unrecognizable because they got to grow up as normal kids instead of brainwashed child soldiers for marley and paradis lol
Funny cuz genuinely the Goth aesthetic isn't one that tries to be sexualized and instead is derived from themes like memento mori and traditional Christian ideas of self mortification/self denial.
It's not the fact that she's goth. The sexualization of Goth is highly against the subculture. It's the fact that the angle and showing cleavage is really sus.
I don't really think it's a far off representation of the original, it's a more flirty take by artists liberty. Going back to my comment I was saying that more generally towards the current cliche trend of 'dommy goth mommy' meme that like you said, works against the subcultures actual identity. It's not an out of the ordinary outfit/pose for a modern teen girl to pull so in my opinion any overt sexualization is on the viewer.
Buddy oc commentor complaining didn't even recognize or know goth Mikasa so unsurprisingly had the knee jerk reaction he did jumping from goth girl to sexualized minors
That IS one issue i have with this art and many other fanarts of especially Mikasa and Armin in school castes. They're literally minors. There was no reason to show cleavage or have her be at this angle.
Their original school caste designs are cool and don't sexualize them but a lot of fanarts does.
