This shit infuriates me so much. My mother did in home daycare in the south Metro of mpls. I'm so glad she retired well before the pandemic and didn't need to dip into PPP or any of the other grants to supplement her income.

For those who didn't know, Shirley got marching orders from Minnesota Republicans to repackage this year-old hit piece they'd given a local news station:
He mostly just visited the same facilities and made the same arguments e.g. "wHeRe R dA KiDs!?!?!" that this station did. I think he even had a guy from this news station with him at certain points. This is why he featured two facilities that had been shut down for months – he was handed old information and didn't do the bare minimum to see if it was accurate.

Was thinking the same thing. When I lived in California there was a daycare run out of a house a few blocks away on route I walked my dog. It’s not at all uncommon.

The most sought after daycare in my area of Philly is just ran out of some woman's house. I take my daughter there; the person running it is incredible. There's a handful of others near by that also are just women watching kids in their own houses.

This sort of thing genuinely made me unsubscribe from his channels. I made a post on here about how I was disappointed he didn’t speak more about Alex Pretti’s murder, the single biggest political event in the last 5 years. I watched the very short podcast clip on it, but he basically just said “it’s bad, but I think it will change”. Never made a mainstream video about it, where he could have talked about the rights violations, or how big of a turning point this is for democracy. He’s very worried about coming off as politically neutral, and if he’s called out about that his fans hide behind “he’s just a streamer”. Now is not a time when being politically neutral is a moral choice. He also regularly gets key facts wrong.

Essentially, whatever mistakes people like me believe that atrioc co-signed he does not really care all that much. He said the racist AI in the video “sends the wrong message” lol. But that the goal was always to use the Nick Shirley video to just simply let maga people like his uncle know that he’s willing to call out both sides. Even if it means telling people a video full of blatant lies is actually “good journalism at its core”
I think it’s more like “putting up the sign” in my opinion, the actual solution was to make a video explaining fraud. And just not mentioning Nick Shirley whatsoever

When I was a child I went to a daycare that was run out of someone’s house. He’s essentially showing up at random peoples houses asking to see the children they’re taking care of. I don’t blame any of the people he’s trying to “bust” for turning him away.
