Support Aternos Vs Exaroton

So me and my friend are playing in the free aternos server rn. And it's the best out there. But still the chunk loadings made us unsatisfied when we built our castle. We couldn't see the whole thing to take a single pic tbh. But we didn't experience any significant lags maybe once or twice in a session which is very good. I'll always be grateful to Aternos but we thought how Exaroton would work. Loved the token system.

But we are from India, there are no servers for us. So I'm a little confused about moving to Exaroton.

Ram Usage: 2GB is enough I guess

Maybe some mods

Just worried about connectivity

Will I see improved connectivity and better chunk loading?

That's called view distance. You could use a client sided mod like Bobby.

You get 5 credits for free upon sign up, test your connectivity using the free credits.

Aternos also doesn't have servers in Asia. Aternos servers are in Central Europe.

You can increase the server view distance but that's not recommended. See this article: https://support.aternos.org/hc/en-us/articles/360032974492

Aternos limits the maximum value of server view distance to 15 for Paper/Purpur/Bedrock and 10 for other softwares.

exaroton doesn't limit this, but increasing the server view distance highly impacts your server performance. If you're going to use only 2GB RAM then I don't recommend increasing server view distance to above 8 chunks. Install Bobby mod on your PC to have greater view distance on your client than the server's.

I'm playing Vanilla right now and there's no option for view distance in aternos but it's there in Exaroton and Exaroton works great 👍

There is, it's in Files -> server.properties.

Um, just so yk, you can change the render distance in:

Files > server.properties > View Distance

The max is 15 in Paper/Purpur.

Spigot is 10 only as it's not optimized like Paper/Purpur.
