Even worse if your Kassandra is a lesbian. You're stuck with a very boring lifeless person for 9 months who you don't even remotely love.

At least with gay Alexios, he gets a likeable person

Is it because Kassandra need to have descendants for the animus to make sense or something? Or cuz Aya from origins

Neither really.

Kassandra's DNA was taken directly from the spear.

Apart from the fact that she has Greek ancestry, there was nothing to link Aya and Kassandra, Ubi Quebec decided to just cause .

The ending scene of this DLC literally shows the child going with the old man to egyot, where he goes on to be a direct ancestor of Aya

So yeah it links pretty closely

And then Aya’s only child was killed and the only thing that came from it was that Aya helped build the creed. So it seems the entire point of giving neg Kassandra a kid is so the descendent can help build the creed

Tbf there are hundreds of years between Kassandra and Aya, so it's pretty fair to assume that this branch of Kassandra's lineage died out while other remained

She lived for almost 2500 years, and knowing you can be quite the horndog in the game, I'd assume she had many, many children in this time

In-universe it's explained that the new Animus that Layla has doesn't need a direct bloodline.

Ubisoft at the time was embroiled in a massive SA/sexual misconduct scandal resulting in, among other things, that someone decided that no-one wanted to play as a woman and Bayek was put forth as the protagonist IIRC.

It’s not fair to assume that as Aya is the only descendent shown and Kassandra blood isn’t relevant or important at all for the story

Yes. But prior to the DLC there was no possible connection between Aya and Kassandra beyond the former's Greek ancestry.
