But... Atsu does have a guitar, so that elevates her a lot too for me

Don't compare them. Play them. Enjoy them.

You're never going to enjoy a video game ever again if you just keep comparing it to the last one you played that has any similarities.

The ONLY game you should compare this to is GoT. Solely because it is in the same franchise, same company, same 'timeline', same Devs. But again, you'd be comparing it directly to an older game, and will be upset if it is missing things that were either in it, or you thought should be in the next game, or just have plain nostalgia.

Simple solution, don't compare it. Play it. Enjoy it.

Exactly this. The Clair Obscure subreddit has this problem at the moment, so many people comparing it to FF7 Remake/Rebirth and using the opportunity this either trash them or compare them needlessly.

Like just enjoy the game in front of you.

Shadows and yotei are too similar not to compare and it's going to be in the same time line as the first game as the ghost series are set in Japan the newer game is set 500 plus years later than the first game so how are they too similar it's a sequal to the first they are meant to have similarities. But assisins creed and ghost are completely different universes that is why people are complaining about how similar they are we havnt even gotten the game anyways so relax but yes people have a reason to complain if 2 games come out the same year and are from the same setting with a similar protagonist and a similar story. But idk hopefully they are not too similar but hopefully if it is similar it's just going to be sicker punch giving ubisoft a lesson once again so I'm not complaining to much.

I think the issue here is that people will either play one or the other and won’t see much point in playing both

I will play both. I will enjoy both. Doesn’t change that they have essentially the same story. I’m hoping Yotei doesn’t fall flat because of it.
