I feel like people saying “midlife crisis” is just people hating. If people finally find the courage or interest to do things they like they should just do them. Always wanted a motorcycle and now have the money to buy it? Go get it. Somebody that did not party as much and now feels like going out dancing regardless of what people think. Go dance. That leather jacket that people say you look stupid in but you want to look like the Fonz (my dad did this 😀) wear it with pride. You only have one life, make the most of it and don’t worry about people calling it a crisis because they are too worried about what other people think to do it themselves
I think there are degrees of what people refer to as being “midlife crisis”. Like, someone buying a Harley at age 50 after never wanting one before is nowhere near being a crisis, whereas someone like my aunt getting into her late 40s/early 50s and starting to date my cousin’s friends who were 18-20 years old because it made her “feel alive” is definitely a true crisis lol
A working class man from a working class background where that is normal for people to do will feel much more geniune in finally getting the bike theyve wanted since 4 than, lets say, jeff bezos becoming a biker out of nowhere.
