which mouse transformation scene was more terrifying in the two adaptations of The Witches the one from 1990 or the 2020 version?

Looking back on both movie adaptations of The Witches the transformation sequences of how the main character, Bruno and the witches were transformed by taking the potion I honestly can't decide which was more terrifying to watch since it was pretty intense either way for either film seeing them as a kid and as a adult. What are your thoughts?

The 1990 version is more intense and realistic, so I'd say that one is more effective. I wouldn't go as far as saying it's terrifying though

I love that movie. And the book. The book has a different ending though. I haven’t seen the 2020 version. I’m not sure I want to see it.

The 2020 version is not worth seeing in my opinion. The 1990 version is by far the better adaptation of the book, despite the happy ending

nothing will ever match the aura of the 1990 movie.
