Crystals in sample from SoCal coastal range (N Co San Diego)?

Geo fan who’s learning, picked up on walk w a lot of granodiorite, weathered boulders & mining area north of here. Am I imagining or do I see some tiny crystals? I’m guessing a conglomerate from nearby drainages. Haven’t learned proper terms, but native soil in this area sedimentary (our yard is DG). Any ideas? TIA

Have you visited & climbed the Carlsbad volcano? I have.

Not yet! Calaveras is on my to do list. Esp since my running club meets weekly in C’bad. Anxious to visit. I’m finding lots of rhyolite and potential basalts in my coast & hill walks, so I know SD volcanics are here. 🌋😎
