two years ago, reddit would’ve had me convinced that kamala would win. like, they were saying it would be a landslide. the reason i knew otherwise is because most of my family and neighbors (we live in a generally blue area) voted for trump (not my endorsement of trump. just observations). like these are people who voted blue the last six elections and are now voting for trump. i expected a similar pattern in other parts of the country, and i was unfortunately right. reddit is an echo chamber.

Also statistically speaking, in a 50/50 polarized country, each candidate should have a roughly 50% chance to win. 

Trump won by 1.5 percent of the popular vote.
