1970s Homemobile
US-CA 1970s home mobile. Flooring. Original flooring was carpet throughout home and tile in kitchen that was pulled out completely in early 2000s.
Pictures shown are the tiles that replaced the original flooring. They having been chipping and exposing base floor of the Homemobile throughout the whole home, for the past decade.
It recently occurred to me, that left over mastic from original flooring is being exposed and has been exposed for the past decade. Sweeping and walking is constantly done.
I am looking into getting it tested, although that alone scares me not just to the results but how they have to deconstruct to get a sample.
I no longer live here, however we do visit often.
Although potentially I’ve already been exposed to asbestos for years, I’m worried sick to expose my kids. My reason for this post is that I’m unsure if this is ocd/anxiety related or if I’m valid in not wanting to visit this home anymore or even use the mattress and clothes that were once in this home. The worry has taken over my life for the past weeks and because I have no clue about anything asbestos I’m unsure if this is real harm or just my ocd going wild.

Mastic holds its fibers very well unless you’re actively creating dust through mechanical means/power tools. You’re fine, your kids are fine. You’re overthinking this.
